I loved this movie so much. Anyone else have seen it? Is there any movie with the same feelings?

You have garbage taste. This movie shouldn't have been more than 90 minutes.

Two and a half hours are not that much, do you have a problem with your attention span?

I have a problem with a short story under 20 pages long being dragged out for no fucking reason.

I can't argue without spouting memes about atmosphere. I've read the short story and a lot of murakami's works and it didn't bother me. I guess i've lost all objectivity since [spoiler/]my ex girlfriend[/spoiler] made me read them and I found the same feelings in the movie.

But the movie is a terrible adaptation of the short story. The MC is married in the SS, and the girl who gets murdered is just some slut who mooches off men that he bangs on the side. He didn't even notice she was missing until the "boyfriend" asked if he had seen her recently. Yet somehow they turned it into a love story.

We don't know if she gets murdered. But yeah, I get you, taking liberties in adapting a 20 pages long story can be upsetting. I wonder what people who don't know about the short stories think of the movie. Not much I guess, since I haven't seen a single thread about the movie since it's out.

>an adaptation has to be accurate
not it doesn't shitbag, it's called creative licenses.

>since I haven't seen a single thread about the movie since it's out.
There have been many, mostly devolving into arguments over whether she was murdered or not. If she wasn't, then the short story was pointless IMO.

I loved this movie but the runtime is ridiculous. The first half has so many unnecessary scenes that could have been shortened or cut completely.

Right. No one ever criticizes movies based on books for not being true to the source material. It's just me.

Not everything needs to be spelled out for you, did you get angry at the leftovers for not explaining why people vanished?

it goes without saying but watch his other stuff. Oasis is amazing and all round better film albeit less qt girl. maybe if you could tell me what you liked about it I could drop some recs

It was probably the best movie I've seen in years. Captivated me from beginning to end.
It's not a love story, you fucking imbecile. Subhumans like you shouldn't be allowed access to a keyboard.

>Thinking theres murderers or any sort of criminal activity in this film outside the random blunt.

Seriously most of people are fucking retarded.

Thanks, I'll look into it. Loved the atmospehre, settings and this feeling of mystery floating, the fact that it grabbed me and stayed in a corner of my head for days. The actors are really good too. Jeon a cute.

Not him, but I liked the slow tension and the lack f any predictable structure.

>It's not a love story
So the MC in the movie didn't love her? Is that what you're trying to claim?

Is this movie actually good or is it just weeb nogf shit? Plot sounds like boring artsy garbage

>Not everything needs to be spelled out for you
What the fuck are you going on about? My argument is that it's pretty clear she was murdered, even moreso in the movie, where they beat you over the head with serial killer stereotypes, like trophy collecting.

>Oasis is amazing and all round better film
Seconding Oasis. I thought it was much more enjoyable than Burning.

>So the MC in the movie didn't love her? Is that what you're trying to claim?
I would say he certainly did not, though it hardly matters in the end, since it has none of the features of a love story. If you think love story just means any movie where a character might love another, then you're fucking retarded.

Downloading Oasis right now, thanks guys.

If you liked Memories of Murder or Jesse James you will love this too. If you're a burger that's here for capeshit and Star Wars, you'll hate it.

she wasnt murdered jesus christ you are a dumbass

It's more boring than burning

SOMEONE EXPLAIN THE WELL

She just disappeared, are you dense or just fucking dumb?

Oh, great, one of those "despite every indication in both the short story and move that she was murdered, I'm going to try to appear smart by being a contrarian faggot and claim that she wasn't" idiots.

checked. also I have shilled this quite a bit but Last Life in the Universe is probably one of the best films that ticks all that boxes Its an atmospheric slow romance story with two unlikely MC and there is more to it that is probably better enjoyed going in dark. Its a Jap-Thai production and cinematographed by Christopher Doyle (In the mood for love, chungking)

see
Abandoning thread before you morons drone on about how she may have been kidnapped or some other ridiculous theory.

bump for more kinos

>b-but muh short story
shut the fuck up nigger, just because its based on it doesnt mean it should be a fucking 40 min movie. What's a retarded argument

>albeit less qt girl
The scenes where it conveyed how she wanted to express her love to the man but was unable was miles better than anything in Burning. Saying she's less qt is ridiculous.

you didn't disprove me there. It is a better scene, i just like the looks of the girl in burning
