Perhaps. I know one thing, that warning chant is what makes it possible.
Seems cool, but I don’t get it. I feel like without there ending up being some sort of supernatural element like The Terror that the spookyness won’t last
Looks like it

Please tell me that the first person shown in the trailer isn't a nigger and that it's just the lightning.
i didnt watch the trailer so what is this even supposed to be about i mean obviously its about the disaster but like is it going to be a conspiracy show or something?
It's just the lighting
I actually met the researchers for this show while hanging out with a group of STALKERs in the exclusion zone while doing research for my own game.
They're going all out on this. They know their shit.
Elephant's Foot confirmed?
Must admit, it looks pretty RAD.
question is if they show them shooting an AK47 at it
>The mass is quite dense, unyielding to a drill, but able to be damaged by a Kalashnikov rifle.
it would be pretty dishonest if they dont really go into detail about every major piece and especially the sacrifice that the men went through
>men go into rooms and onto the fabled roof that if you spend more than a few minutes you are going to get major cancers and possibly even straight up die within a week, they volunteered to go up and work longer than they should to help stop the disaster
really hope they show a mix of incompetence and mistakes being fixed by more bravery and sacrifice
Oпять клюквы нaхyячaт cyки.
>will it be kino?
maybe, but it will also be western propaganda
>sneyaiovu
What did they mean by this?
Based on the trailer it seems to be about what happened to the emergency workers who were exposed to radiation and how their storywas covered up.
I'm very interested in the topic but the cynic in me says this show is designed to be anti-nuclear propaganda.
I've certainly noticed an uptick in antinuke propaganda shit lately, what's with the panic?
Flipping the "E" and "R" is retarded and possibly culturally insensitive.
>this show is designed to be anti-nuclear propaganda.
Of course it is. Anti Nuclear Power and anti Government.
Which one of these should I start to watch before the premiere? Downloaded what I could find from a list posted in another thread.
typical jews putting blacks where they don't belong! now blacks want to take credit for the greatness of Chernobyl baka
Halo Online
But I already play that with online bros every Friday when we can.
Yeah but it's slavs so who cares xdddd
So basically this is the spiritual successor to the Terror, unlike Terror Season 2 which will have nothing in common with the Terror?
Imagine unironically defending the Soviets who knowingly covered up design flaws in their nuclear reactors and blamed accidents on the techs that weren't briefed about those flaws
Yep: Crozier, Mr. Hickey and Sir James Ross' translator, 5 of the sound team, one of the makeup team and one costume designer for a total of 10. By comparison, The Terror seasons 1 and 2 only have 6 producers and the casting director in common.
>CHЭЯИOBУ
What did they mean by this?
The spookyness comes from the rising awareness that there is a nuclear reactor near you, just waiting to explode.
>historic kino coming out soon
>only one thread on Yea Forums about it and it’s moving at glacial speed
Why does Yea Forums have such shit taste? This looks more kino than Star Wars, Avengers or GOT which fills the catalog
>aggrotech
yikes
>The spookyness comes from the rising awareness that there is a nuclear reactor near you, just waiting to explode.
>think the acting is shitty because its some cheap dub
>go to look up if a subbed version available
>its not dubbing
FUCK
>tfw know how to read some russian
>spend 30 sec like an idiot trying to decipher wtf that title says
Its not insensitive, it just turns the word in to jibberish
it's just a trailer
>penetrating everything in it's path
But the really harmful shit from Uranium (alpha decay) can't even penetrate a piece of paper
Will there be pointless sex scenes?
Oh great more anti nuclear propaganda
Is it dangerous in there?
>mini series
>kino premise
Literally can't be bad.
Do you want a series about the Chernobyl accident but being pro-nuclear? That would be something worth to watch. How would you that, but keeping it realistic? You sound very smart, for sure you have dozens of ideas.
>Do you want a series about the Chernobyl accident but being pro-nuclear? That would be something worth to watch. How would you that, but keeping it realistic? You sound very smart, for sure you have dozens of ideas.
Yeah user, I'd like to hear your thoughts on this as well. How would you make a documentary about the Chernobyl disaster that paints nuclear energy in a positive light?
>Black person in Chernobyl
Fuck this SJW pandering crap this series will not be kino
If the series doesn't show how the Soviet incompetence and uncaring let it fail it's dishonest fear mongering.
congratulations, you're retarded
Not him but showing what actually caused the incident (commie retardation) in the first place would be a good start.
By portraying the actual facts that the entire reason it happened was due to various factors that could have been prevented and that the actual method of generating power isn't what caused it and it's safe.
This is HBO in the year of our lord of 2019, i'm sure they won't go into this much or at all.
snyeyaiovu
i started learning russian 2 weeks ago and even i can tell that's just fucking silly...
Yeah man gotta pander to their AOC loving nuke hating demographic. the one way to actually reduce climate change is evil
>Press 'Emergency Shutdown' button
>Reactor explodes
Well, I suppose it technically did what it said it would
>literally have commies in the trailer saying they need to contain the spread of “disinformation”
>yet somehow its left-swinging propaganda
Looks to me like a criticism of communism.

Quiet, everyone! user has something to say!
I don’t speak slav runes. Is that the “Attention Attention,” thats playing in the background of the trailer?
Yes, but I think he's about to clear his throat and announce something.
Looks like it's drawing heavily from the book "Voices from Chernobyl: The Oral History of a Nuclear Disaster" by Svetlana Alexievich. Very grim accounts of what dying from radiation poisoning is like, the cover up attempts, cleaning operations, and little horrors that never really got publicized because by the time it happened interest had faded and the governments of Belarus and Ukraine did not want much word getting out about, like the fate of items looted from the zone.
For an example from my life, I have a coworker from Crimea, whose mother loved antique furniture. She would travel to scour markets in Kiev for all the handmade, well-crafted items she could find. One day, she began growing ill. Horrible stomach problems, her hair loosened and fell out, she grew pale, and experienced a stesdy decline in health. Doctors were confused at first, but figured out it was severe radiation poisoning. They weren't sure of the source, so some health officials went to her house with a Geiger counter and found that her antique wooden desk was burning with rads, and many other misc antiques in the house she'd collected were unsafely radioactive.
Looters in the 90s figured out that there was huge money to be made in selling traditionally crafted furniture to antique dealers and collectors, and that by taking it to major cities it could be quickly sold without intense questions about the source. This is not a one-off thing, and investigators suspect that there are other dangerously radioactive antiques looted from Chernobyl that made their way into the markets throughout Europe.
Holy shit I lurk mostly but this is unadulterated K I N O
Good post
Hopefully they don't put too much politics in it. I really hate it when people judge what happened from their time/culture instead of just telling the story. I really wish directors would spend less time telling me what to think and more time giving me an experience. There's so much to choose from:
>bad reactor design pushed through
>drama between engineers leading up to meltdown
>drama of government coverup and world reaction
>kino scenes of brave men facing gruesome deaths to contain a disaster that could kill everyone they know
>every day people caught up in complete madness
So much potential.
>Every atom of uranium is like a bullet, penetrating anything in its path, metal, concrete, flesh. Now Chernobyl holds over three trillion of these bullets. Some of them will not stop firing for 50 000 years
That makes absolutely no sense. 3 trillion atoms of uranium are 1.2 ng. I could inject that amount into my balls and it probably wouldn't matter.
Honestly doesn't look too good. They could have made something special with the topic, but decided to go cheap.
>ywn be a radioactive antique detective
get out of here stalker
>First shot of trailer is a black man.
WE WUZ COMRADES N SHEEEEETT
Did Chernobyl fiddle those kiddies?
Lighting, retard
>can't stop thinking about the great bbc
was it mental illness?
Chrnobyl is actually not an indication to the unsafe nature of nuclear power but to the stupidity of man. If you know anything about the accident you would know that.
>SNZYAIOVOO
What difference does it make whether nuclear power is inherently unsafe or unsafe as long as human stupidity exists?
