They were trying to push a primetime blocks but never wanted to stick to a certain night.

The CEO of Cartoon Network at the time literally came out and said he's canceling ThunderCats because he felt that cartoons should be for children.

The scheduling was atrocious, advertising for their shows was shit poor, and there were shake ups in the creative department. There is a reason why many of the creators at CN jump ship to Nick or went into animated features.
After cancelling a bunch of action shows then putting a nail in comedy shows they focused on only a handful of shows all from creators who were pals with the execs.
There is a reason why all the CN showsrunners re either calarts alums or friends with calart alums who were already working under CN.
