Shazam?

>Fun Film
>Loved by Critics
>Loved by the Audience
>Still has Poor legs
What the fuck, how could this happen? It doesn't make sense

its not as funny or heartfelt or resonant or original as it needed to be.

WB doesn't have the strong arm of The Mouse to meddle with the numbers.

Who cares? I liked it. I might even buy the DVD later. Who knows.

Definitely going to take my wife to watch the sequels, though. First time we've seen a capeshit movie in the theater since I took her to X-Men in 1999.

So, they should've bought empy theaters?

>mediocre film
>shilled by critics
>loved by a small, vocal group of the available audience

This, it was never going to be able to compete with Disney capeshit. It was a good movie though.

Fun film, but it's not cool. Aquaman was the the type film a beer chugging chad would be happy to go see, but Shazam doesn't have that factor. Trailers made it look more a film for a younger audience.

Tickets going on sale for the biggest film of all time two days before this came out would have something to do with it. Nobody is even thinking about going to the movies right now.

I already pre-ordered. It’s going into my Christmas rotation.

>biggest film of all time

Avatar's being re-released?

No avatar 2

Because the general audience doesn’t know good movies.

The movie was good but the Shazam family was stupid, i wish it was just a 1v7 as the final fight to make it more intresting instead of pulling it out of their ass

It's like you retards forgot Aquaman literally made over a billion

As much as I hate to bring them up in any capeshit discussion, Mike said it best in the last HitB.
>No one can say "finally" with this movie.

That, and the CGI wasn't a spectacular explosion of colors so foreigners didn't care about it. People think the character is goofy and lame (and he is, but that's part of the charm). The truth is, the public doesn't care if a movie is good, just if it's tangentially related to a movie they already like.

>the most interesting part of the movie to this user was the punching part
I respect your right to hold an opinion.

It already has a sequel and a spin off greenlit

>just if it's tangentially related to a movie they already like.
How much more would this have done if one of the end credit scenes for Aquaman was a a scene from Shazam?

It's doing fine except for China. Dropped around 53% domestically and overseas except in China where it fucking died with a 84% drop.

Big families of surplus children probably seems like a completely alien concept to them.

It already made its money back and then some.
We also have a sequel and a spin off confirmed, it’s fine.

Damn. China sure loves white people, huh.

>Won’t beat Alita in China
The fuck?

A lot of movies wont beat Alita in china. They're the only people who really liked it

Alita was the better movie, I liked both but I had way more fun with Alita.
