some people are just jerks

they were supporters of the dude on the throne, which the targshits no longer were

Nothing about this makes sense anymore. Why was Tarly so loyal to Cersei when she doesn't even hold a proper claim to the throne?

for me, it's MDED-213

Jaimie mentions several times about the Tarlys still being Targ supporters. He even enlists them precisely because he is afraid they'll join Dany.

they're still sworn to the crown,

Reminder that

CERSEI HAS NO FUCKING CLAIM

And Dabid and his hack butt boy still refuse to acknowledge this

they were retards. literal darwin award moment

Because Dany brought a fucking tidal wave of foreigners to the country and they would rather die than live in that world. That's literally the reason they sided with Cersei.

This.

I don't get why people love the S6 finale. Blowing up the Sept was the moment the show jumped the shark and never recovered. The city would have been convulsed by riots and nobody in a position of power would have stood by Cersei if Tommen died. Hell, they didn't even have to kill him off, he could have just been turned into a passive PTSD sufferer beholden to his mommy and nothing would have had to change.

Fucking D&D

cersai literally is the queen weather she has a claim or not

Why is that motherfuckers shoulders so broad? His head looks like a fucking peanut

I thought Rickon and Dickon were supposed to become gay emperors

strongest and quickest army diplomacy faggot

In reality having a genuine claim to the throne didn't mean shit. Whenever a rightful heir came to the throne too young they were always disposed by the lords around them and replaced with somebody that had the force to take the the throne. Ever lord could make a claim to the throne by their great-great-grandfathers-uncles-sisters-cousin.

To help establish that Dany is a wrathful cunt

dispensing with Stannis via 20 GOODMEN after hardhome was where the show jumped the shark.

>no claim
>queen to the last legitimate ruling king

uhuh

thats not even his final form.

Dont think being married into it gives you any claim breh

She's not queen. She was Queen Dowager/Mother of the King.

After Tommen died, the throne would have been given to the next eligible Baratheon, as far back as they need to go to find one.

It does when nobody has the balls to challenge your claim and the common folk don't really care because they're too worried about some foreign bitch invading the country with a horde of brown savages.

all the baratheons are dead

The Baratheons hadn't established a tradition of a hereditary monarchy. Not one Baratheon ruled besides Robert. Therefore the rule wasn't established in the clean slate world of the Targs being overthrown

>In reality
This is a fantasy show. One where a rightful claim can mean everything. For everyone to die for Cersei out of loyalty is absurd given how no matter how you twist and turn, no lawfag would be loyal to Cersei. She has no claim. All the Baratheon kids are dead. So the line of succession goes to the closest Baratheon family. It's that simple.

>Not one Baratheon ruled besides Robert.
Joffrey was king. And don't forget Robert made his claim through his Targaryen lineage. This is why Ned didn't take the throne himself but gave it to Robert instead.

joffrey the baratheon when pretty much every lord knows about the incest even if the smallfolk dont

Huh it's almost like the entire point of the show is about how people will covet and take power by any means necessary.

Herpaderp she isn't the rightful heir! And who the fuck is going to stop her? She has all the money, the biggest army and has everyone in her pocket politically. That's how you become king/queen. Robert became king by taking it by force. The Targaryens took it by force before him. Even in Westeros there's no precedent set of the rightful lineage being on the throne.

not only that, but the whole reason she didnt just kill the pope is because she would be lynched by the fanatics for disrespecting the religion, if anything blowing up the vatican is only going to make things worse for her

why didnt Stannis and Selyse have more kids? It's like all these lords stop having sex after one kid, what's going on?

Retardation and bad writing.

Exactly. Randyll couldn't join Dany with his honor in tact. Not after flipping sides so many times. His intention was to die, leaving Dickon alive to bend the knee. Randyll even looks at Dickon and nods after Tyrion tells him to bend the knee and save his family. Dickon was just an idiot.

Because Dany has a horde of savages to kill and rape women, unlike Cersei who blows up half of King's Landing and become the Queen without any heir anymore, rumors of incest and being a vengeful traitorous bitch.

No idea. They had so many women waiting for them back at the sitadell. Like just bend the knee with your fingers crossed you morons

Better the devil you know.

Highly unlikely that the three brothers didn't have any uncles, grand-uncles, great-granduncles for a bloodline that's been around for centuries.

In that case, there would have been a lot of deliberation on who to give it to by the great men of the realm. Robert was allowed to become king because the Baratheons have Targ blood, so they would have nominated someone for whom the same was true. If the Martells hadn't also all been conveniently killed off, they would have been possible candidates. Can't remember which of the other houses have Targ descent.

Targaryans had ruled for centuries with only a few decades of Baratheon and few years of Lannister full of wars, uprising and again killing your subjects and beloved queen and religious leader.

Some people would still choose that instead of being flooded with horse fucking immigrants.

Robert was depicted as an extremely charismatic and strong leader going up against a literal mad man tyrant. And even that still had him with less men to command. Lineage matters in this story. Robert's Rebellion is proof that many houses sided with a mad man solely not to break vow.

Cersei has neither claim or charisma or gender or anything to be ruler. She's just there because let's face it, the writers wanted female rulers. That's it.

Stannis didn't love Selyse at all.

>the american way

>scenes women will never understand

he couldn't bang one out every year until he got a male heir?

Why would he care about a male heir?

Also, there would have been an upswing in support for Dany's restoration. The books make it seem like a substantial part of the population of the Seven Kingdoms are secret Targ supporters, and without anyone else to give the throne to some people who were previously iffy on the idea would probably come around to supporting a restoration. All of this is completely non-existent in the show, of course, since it would make it clear that Cersei shouldn't be in nearly as strong a position as she is, so instead everyone bitches about 'muh foreign hordes'

Well she's incredibly calculated, well versed in political theatre, has a powerful name in Lannister, has the money, the soldiers, the support of the self serving boot licking lords. You might not agree with it and maybe you'd have joined Dany or Jon Snow or some shit but there's a lot of people that would rather stick with Cersei than a northern monkey or a girl who has lived her entire life on a different continent. I live in the UK and I could easily imagine this scenario, the north/south divide is a serious thing.

I think it would have been better had Tommen not been killed off, he’s just used by Cersei. Sort of like Galla Placidia to Valentinian III

well she's not a bitch but i get your point

I thought his master plan was to fuck Melisandre until she gave birth to a son, who would somehow be legitimate under the Lord of Light's religious laws.

same problem Yea Forums has. small dick syndrome

They didn't realize it was HER TURN
