All major oil exporting countries had a major crisis when the prices fell but they survived and survive because they diversified their economy, which is the key to a strong country. Venezuela didn't. They instead wasted all their money in populism measures to show the world "hey dude socialism totally works!"

Except it didn't, the oil fell, they have nothing and can't compete and are going to utter shit. And even while literally defaulting they still try to use socialist measures like emitting more money in circulation to try to stop the increases in prices, which translates into a literal 1.000.000% inflation in a year.

Marx is basically a propagandist of communist (which is an organization that he didn't popularize or invent).
Historical materialism, and Hegelian dialects are used by Marx to propell his political ideals, by presenting them as the end-goal of human history.

It's no different how Hegel used the concept of the historical Spirit to present the Prussian state and European culture as the end state of human civilization.

Marx just got rid of the spiritual undertones and all the obscurantist hocus-pocus, dressed it up as "scientific socialism", but in the end his goals were the same: do propaganda for his political ideas.

It happened again and again. Note how every state that followed the tenets of marxism in its varying hues was always autocratic, maybe less so Soviet Union after Brezhnev since it devolved into a bureaucratic state torn between the party, the army, and the secret services.
To be fair it wasn't too hard to advance in this society, late general secretaries came from poor working families, just do your job, suck up to the superior and eventually you will succeed. But Soviet Union was the most refined and successful example of a communist-in-spe state, most of the rest of communist states devolved into authoritarian shitholes.
