This looks genuinely fucking fantastic. I'm excited about this. Between this and that Jedi game, I'm actually feeling positive about Star Wars again even if the new season of The Clone Wars sadly looks fucking awful and Episode IX looks disappointing and potentially more lore raping than TLJ was. 2 out of 4 good Star Wars projects are acceptable results with Disney's current track record.

Star Wars felt magical because it had groundbreaking effects to back up it's world building, now special effects are so thoughtless and easy that I'm more impressed by the ability to match the original trilogy's classic aesthetic. I'm not excited for IX and I thought the idea of a Star Wars show was stupid but I'm actually kind of impressed with this.

Sort of. It's very contradictory, even after the mass slate-cleaning Disney perpetrated. The Clone Wars cartoon has Mandalorians showing up all the time, even though Jango was supposedly the last or one of the last, though he also was at some point stated to have been adopted into the culture, rather than born and bred into it.

That said, this probably won't be good, and if the first episode actually does turn out to be good. The Mandalorians used to be warlike tribes that sometimes united under one leader, then they became a more pacifistic centralized state after a war wrecked all of their shit, then a civil war broke out but we don't know how that ended, then the empire took over somehow, then ANOTHER civil war broke out because the dark saber was important now apparently, and we don't know how that ended.

Marvel comics literally were made to be told in monthly, self contained, episodic adventures and the shows were bloated horribly paced 10 episode seasons of 55 minute shows telling one under baked story.
