I just finished S08E01 and I've avoided all discussion before now.
I have a theory, I don't know if it has been posted yet, but it's clear to me that in the scenes where each of the different characters 'see' Bran just sitting on a wheelchair staring at them that he's not 'really' there.

He's 'dreaming' or watching these events unfold in some different time or place, just like the visions he had at the Tower of Joy and young Hodor. We know that he can communicate with people and influence the events of the past. That doesn't necessarily mean the events we the viewer see have already happened... he could be from the past looking at events of the future.

He's always somewhere out of place in his wheelchair with seemingly no one nearby to help him get around. I don't remember if he can move his own wheelchair or what.
