Why don't people ever talk about this scene? Think about the fact probably billions of people have seen this little robot getting its feet tortured. Nearly every hot girl or cute boy has had this image of helpless suffering and sadism imprinted on their brain at some point, probably multiple times. Kinda hot.

Out of all the scenes in the original trilogy, this one freaked me out the most. Even the Twi'lek getting eaten by the Rancor, the Wampa attack, or the Tauntaun getting cut open didnt affect me as a child but this part was different.
The cries for help, the screaming when it first stops, then the silence. George Lucas really is a genius.

Imagine it being there all alone, unloved, at the mercy of monstrous creatures in the belly of some inescapable criminal underworld. No escape, no rescue. A side act in a procession of terror never to be seen again, swallowed up in a bleak existence of endless red-hot humiliation.

the robot that's in charge of jabba's droids was given a chip from an assassination droid by mistake iirc in manufacturing, so this has caused made it derives fulfillment in its programming through causing pain to other machines, it discovers ways of causing pain to that which does not feel pain

The people complaining about the metal bikini forget about the POC sex slave being gruesomely executed for fun because they don't like alien characters in the first place and tune them out whenever they appear. Ever notice the near total lack of alien characters in the sequel trilogy outside of a few legacy character cameos and isolated gimmick scenes like the casino?

They also don't actually watch the original movies. They just know famous actress Carrie Fischer wore a sleazy bikini at some point and that other people are talking about it. They probably couldn't even tell you which movie she wears the outfit in if you quizzed them on it while they are away from a device with access to Google.

The way this particular scene does everything it can to sexualize the victim, give the audience a boner and ensure it keeps said boner right up until the point where she drops into the hole, and then degrades her further by making light of her fate, is unique in cinema as far as I know. Probably for the best. As hot as it is, this is not a fetish that needs to be nourished.

That robot really does have a terrific voice. There is something strangely very satisfying, soothing even, about it. These movies and even the prequels had top tier sound effects.

It actually makes sense if you think about it. If their homeworld is a poor or politically unstable shithole and is located near a major trade route, then many or even most of the hot females of that species you'd see in the wider galaxy would be trafficking victims.
