It's not worth naming the whole movie over. And if a character is just going on about "m-muh Chinatown" all day I expect some explanation

Among the best endings to a movie ever, in my opinion. Very memorable. Movie as a whole is pretty up and down, though. Good parts as well as absolutely boring parts.

Love this movie. Been meaning to rewatch. My brother refuses to every watch it again and completely denounces it on account of it being a Roman Polanski film.

All the people who get all fussy and make a big deal about Polanski fucking a 13 year old are the biggest pedos of all. It's like how the anti-gay priests are always the ones found in some truck stop sucking cock.

I didn't like the dialogues between Jake and whatshername, the daughter of the rich guy. She was just so inane and I couldn't bring myself to care about what she was saying, even if it was relevant to the plot.

Nothing wrong with that if it's a good monitor. If professionals can edit video and photos on a monitor, why not watch film?

This is based on George Hill Hodel Jr., a promnent Los Angeles doctor, who secretly performed abortions and other illegal medical procedures, and who had a child with his own daughter Tamar.
Hill also seems to have been connected to corrupt police officers, and other powerful people in California, and possibly national politicians as well.

They did explain it; pay attention.

The attitude of the cops who worked Chinatown was "do as little as possible" because their lack of Chinese language or cultural comprehension meant intervention often made bad situations worse.

Jake literally repeats this instruction word for word before the famous "forget it" line. The obvious implication is that he's made the same mistake again - if he had done nothing Mulwray would still be alive.

Good movie. Excellent soundtrack, and Jack Nicholson's suits in the movie are the pinnacle of men's fashion
