He was protesting the rising airline prices

God damn this scene scared me as a kid

>Theres a nigger out there!

Same, it really spooked me. Just a little pane of glass separated what was otherwise a normal flight from a Twilight Zone gremlin.

what I love most about this story is that in the end he was 100% in the right and shot that fucking gremlin instead of making it some pretentious le shatner was the bad guy the whole time schlock like nu twilight zone

Dude just got out of a mental hospital for having a nervous breakdown on a plane. So when he spots gremlin, nobody believes him cuz his wifes a cunt and told the crew about his situation.
Also ppl always look for a "moral" or "point" to the story, but i dont think it has one.
Its just a scary story. Some of those old twilight zones are just scary stories with no point

The Twilight Zone was all about btfoing cynicism. That was necessary in that period of history I think. Now too but everyone is just doubling down.

Yeah, there were about three types of Twilight Zone episodes:
Horror (which rarely had a moral lesson)
Sci-fi or supernatural drama (which about half the time had a moral lesson)
Traditional/historical drama (which often had a moral lesson)

The Gremlin in this always seemed more confused than sinister, like he wasn't trying to wreck the plane as much as trying to understand what it was, how it worked & the creatures inside it.

The movie version though...

i have this pic from like 2011

How would Jordon Peele remake this episode?

with a fuck white people angle starring the gayest looking guy on parks and rec

He already has and it was absolute garbage.

Can't let the other writers/producers like Simon Kinberg and Marco Ramirez (Netflix shit like Orange is the New Black, Daredevil S2 and Defenders) escape blame. Those hacks should be baristas.

I didn't watch the new series because I know its garbage. Can you give me the quick rundown?

The best thing about the episode is that the creature really was out there tearing up the engine. Shatner saved everyone by forcing an early landing.

planes can still fly with an engine failure

>Nightmare at 30,000 Feet
PTSD-suffering investigative journalist Justin Sanderson boards Northern Goldstar Airlines Flight 1015 from Washington, D.C. to Tel Aviv after accepting a job offer. Shortly before takeoff, Justin finds an MP3 player in his seat pocket and discovers it contains a podcast revolving around the crash of the plane he is currently on. As the podcast accurately describes events taking place on the flight, Justin juggles controlling his nerves and confiding in fellow passenger Joe Beaumont, a former pilot who seems to be the only person who believes him. He tries using clues from the podcast to avert the disaster, but every attempt results in irritated crew and passengers. Joe then convinces Justin to help him gain access to the flight deck so he can land the plane safely in Canada. The two accomplish their mission but Justin realizes Joe is responsible for the plane crashing at the last minute. Waking up on an atoll, Justin learns via the podcast that everyone survived while he is considered missing. The survivors appear and attack Justin despite his claims that he was trying to save them.

because that’s quirky and retro! also because peele is a massive irredeemable faggot.

i mean, regardless of how much they suck, they aren't remaking the twilight zone, so what's the point of bringing them up?

>see op image and think its a Citizen Kane thread
>nice.jpg
>pleb TV shit

oh yes the famous airplane gremlin scene in citizen kane you fucking moron

>I never could stand looking at Bette Davis, so I don’t want to see her act, you see. I hate Woody Allen physically, I dislike that kind of man.
>Henry Jaglom: I’ve never understood why. Have you met him?
>Orson Welles: Oh, yes. I can hardly bear to talk to him. He has the Chaplin disease. That particular combination of arrogance and timidity sets my teeth on edge.

Based orson calling out proto soi

Sure. But this is The Twilight Zone and the plane was flying at night. (And in a storm?)

getting at they fucking murdered him and ditched his body, kept it a secret amongst themselves.

Wtf they had sliding glass doors on planes in the 60s?

bad
