I really like these kinds of movies. Can you suggest any films that get the concept right without glaring plot holes?
Movies about time travel/parallel universes
>get the concept right
It's made up shit. There's no "right" way to do the concept. If you want us to list something you think is the right way of doing it then you've gotta say what you think timetravel or parallel universe stories must do.
By "right" I mean the rules are consistent.
Only media I think get time dilation right is Interstellar and Gunbuster, but that's an anime
Movies can't do alternate universe stories in my opinion. There's no time to setup the "real" world juxtaposition. Only tv shows have enough backstory to build on to make an AU story interesting.
This one has my waifu from Happy Death Day in it.
go watch Primer, OP
Thanks! Also, I found this chart by accident, maybe it will be useful to someone here.
Coherence, kinda
Time Trap is amateurish but gets really good towards the end
If you're interested in history and Japan, go watch nobunaga concerto. It has a movie after the series. Based on real events
Ha, that's cool. I wouldnt call Frequency a time travel film though.
>ywn see either for the first time again
why even live
Terminator Genysis.
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
Wrote a paper on it for my metaphysics class
Primer is so fucking good but unless you're watching it with people who can stand to not ask any questions you're gonna be explaining things over the important dialogue, granted that just shows how interesting a concept and how much thought went into the logic of how that time travel worked in universe.
Terry Gilliam's 12 Monkeys is my favourite.

If you haven’t watched Melancholia you should give it a shot, no time travel just a second earth entering our solar system on a quasi collision course with us. Not a lot of movies actually get an emotional reaction out of me but that one sure did. I’m posting this unironically btw.
Hello Facebook
Reminds me of patema inverted. Powerful movie against racism
>le old grandfather paradox from the beginning days of the internet
I'm gonna spoil this for everyone because it's so shit, a woman actually has a sex change and becomes her own grandfather if you can actually believe someone put money behind that, plus the acting is shocking
Isn't that some creepypasta or something?
it's from a short story from the 50s you mongoloid
They plain copied the story. No effort on scriptwriting. Fucking terrible filmmaking
I don't remember if there were plot holes or not but this was pretty good.
>includes Black Knight
>doesn't include Unidentified Flying Oddball
...the fuck kind of list is this? Missing a bunch in fact.
i enjoyed frequently asked questions about time travel
i also enjoyed that one with bruce willis and jgl, i forget what it was called
the latter has some juicy plot holes iirc but the former is pretty sound
>that one with bruce willis and jgl
looper
Source-Code
Not so much a time _travel_ movie per se but I liked this a lot, the more so for never having heard of it.
>literally called paycheck
was that relevant to the story of have they just given up pretending they're making art?
it's based on a book same name
The Butterfly Effect
this one is pretty kino
also Triangle
Timecrimes was excellent, I highly recommend it
Biff Tannen did nothing wrong!
