Hope they make a sequel.

Already confirmed, bro. I'm seeing it again tomorrow, not only because it's a fun movie, but because I think they might have done something subtle and cool in it about how magic works.

I agree it really was a lot of fun and a well executed movie

I told someone that this is a lot less what people think of as a cape movie and more a well-written, well-directed, well-acted family comedy that just so happens to have superhero stuff in it. Just a really good movie.

It is a superhero movie, but not a modern one

That makes sense.

agreed, that's what made it so great. I'm worried about what happens in the sequel and the eventual "Universe" shit you know they're going to pull. At least we got 1 good movie out of it.

I loved the hell out of it.

I know very little about Shazam/Captain Marvel so the reveal of Mr. Mind was unexpected, at first I thought the caterpillar was some sort of pet and that it died, not that it was another evil force locked in a jar

I see good things in the future. Mr. Mind is going to be fucking awesome. Black Adam is likely to be a full-scale, mythic-level blowout set in near-prehistory. Imagine "The Mummy" as a cape movie, only this guy's not scared of cats.

I legit want them to make Adam the cause of Atlantis losing the Desert Kingdom.

>"What in the name of God ..."
>"No, you've got it backwards. It is *I* who names the gods."

>superhero with the magic powers of legendary gods and heroes
vs
>one worm

It was good until they started pushing the "stronk waymen" shit

An EVIL alien worm

Just watched it. Some of the humor felt a little too forced and the old shazam dude had terrible make-up, but the movie was fun and its emotional moments were sweet. I loved the third act after they introduced the ‘other’ Shazams, that moment was so much fun. I liked the DCEU references and my theater (not many teenagers, most were adults / couples) was very happy with Superman’s cameo at the end, they clapped loudly during credits. I’m not in the USA, but people here also clap during credits if they enjoyed the movie and most did. The credits, by the way, had some cool art

LIGHTNING
WITH
MY
HAAAAAAAAANDS

Saw it today. It's pretty good. If I haven't seen
>the Matrix
>Star Wars
>any other capeshit
I'd probably worship this forever.

It's really good. The last fight took too long and it bothered me, that the demons suddenly didn't know, how to turn into smoke to dodge the attacks, but ok, whatever... I hate to be obliged to turn my brain off...

It was better than any other capeshit in past 5 years at least. The cinematography bothered me, though. It lacked Yea Forums's favorite 'soul'. On paper, it's perfect. Executed - not special.

8/10 capeshit
6/10 flick

>fartgas demons tell me to kill my family
>ok
Bravo Nolan

Are you simply that fucking dense? Do you not understand the power of demonic influence? The fucking seven deadly sins were in the head of a tormented adult who hated his family. I swer your coping shitposts are getting dumber and shorter every thread.

>The cinematography bothered me, though. It lacked Yea Forums's favorite 'soul'.
This shot alone makes it worthy

>implying it was the demons who told him to actually murder his asshole family
That was just on him, if anything having 7 demons inside just gave him courage to actually go for it

The kids fucking cracked me up.

I wonder if they'll promote the Marvel Family for the home video release

Fucking kek. Amazingly, they didn’t spoil any of the funniest shit in the trailers.

I loved that shit so much.

cool art

>It is a superhero movie, but not a modern one
OP here; it really feels like it was done by a competent director in 1989. It's got that classic tightly-scripted 1980s family comedy

The only part I didn't like was the fight at the end that dragged on too long because hollywood thinks we want to see twenty minutes of two guys punching each other or we're going to feel ripped off when five minutes would be plenty

I loved that the true villain wasn’t Sivana, but the demons and his shit family. Special shout-out to Billy’s horrible mom.

Yeah, I feel the same way. It lost a little steam in the big fight, but otherwise I couldn’t have been happier.

I lost my shit with the flying monologue

I'm not cucked, but that panel reminds me of Drumpf

I don't think it was "20 minutes of two guys punching each other", in fact I thought they fought very little, it was mixed with the family fighting the demons. It was paced out well enough for me. Unlike MoS for instance, that was 20 minutes of destruction porn and 2 guys punching each other.

My single favorite moment was the strip club. Not even going to say more. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone.

>Special shout-out to Billy’s horrible mom.
If Billy was 3 when he got lost then his mom was either 14 or 13 when she got pregnant by a guy who was a career convict and was a teen mom on her own with the implication that her own parents or guardians weren't concerned about her suddenly losing her son.

Her life (and by extension Billy's) was fucked beyond her control from before she was old enough to do anything about it.

Are you guys shilling or unironically saying you enjoyed this movie?
I'm seeing alot of reviews saying it was good.
From the trailers it doesn't look that much different from a deadpool for kids movie to me.

I haven't watched it but it seems just slightly more interesting than captain marvel.

>Are you guys shilling or unironically saying you enjoyed this movie?
How would we prove the difference

Trailer didn't show any of the funny stuff btw

if you can accept superhero movies being corny, then you'll probably like it

The trailers actually do a fairly good job of not spoiling the movie. This one is definitely family friendly, but at the same time it's got some surprises. It caught me off guard.

>if you can accept superhero movies being corny, then you'll probably like it
This. The bad guy is more Dick Tracy than Heath Ledger bottom text

that was really funny

It wasn’t destruction porn, the weight of Superman’s final decision wouldn’t translate well at all if they didn’t show how much of a threat an alien slowly getting used to his powers is and that was shown through the action (Zod as a beast running up a building at first and clashing with Superman, followed by Zod screaming as he develops the laser eyes and destroys a building in one go, followed by Zod removing his armor and learning to fly extremely quickly). Superman was literally losing control of the battle as it went along cause Zod was adapting so much faster than he did in the past.

MoS was DCino

Didnt she say she got pregnant ar 17? She was almost homeless when Billy was 3 since her dad kicked her out and her husband left to do some crime shit

>Didnt she say she got pregnant ar 17?
I thought she said she was 17 when she abandoned him

I might be wrong

Audiences need spoonfeeding, otherwise they'll think Kal killed Zod for some casuals who could have run sideways.

If Snyder threw some quick glances at the shitload of destruction before Supes snaps I bet audiences would go 'yeah, totally justified'
