Explain to me why this isn't the best capeshit made in years

"It's too dark" is not an argument. "Muh Martha" is not an argument. Why can't anyone provide an actual reason as to why this is a bad movie?

The monster at the end was pulled out of nowhere for no good reason.

Batman was poorly designed. He was meant to be going kinda nuts it seemed due to a fear of aliens and their unbridled power, but it was just illustrated with some dream sequence and a couple cliche lines rather than developing something that would show him as really being invested in taking down Superman.

It felt half assed.

Other aspects like Superman and Lex were done great.

If we got to see the 5 story arc, it wouldn't have been this way. Lex used Doomsday as a means to distract the whole world from his actual plans, which was to alert Darkseid. But he ended up contacting Steppenwolf. But that scene was not shown in the theatrical cut (along with many other crucial scenes).

No. He went nuts because he lost Robin to joker. And then came Superman and Zod destroying stuff and causing the death of many (even though Supes literally saved the whole planet). This made batman lose it and ended up projecting his fears onto superman. Also, that dream sequence was supposed to make more sence after JL but.. You know what happened.

He's right though. Only geniune autists get hung up on Martha. There's a reason why they chose to reveal his face and broken voice right before the name drop. You were seeing the real Bruce. Not Batman. Not the billionaire. But the disfigured and broken down Bruce.

The CGI was trash and took me out of the movie every time it occupied a large portion of the screen.

The pacing was awful and the movie moved at a snail's pace.

The editing was half assed with scenes never really meshing together and one leading into another.

It was too soon, made ahead of its time

The biggest issue with the movie is that it needed a movie in between it for any of it to feel earned. That's the movies biggest issues, it's trying to make you care for 5 movies worth of shit which balancing 5 plots in the most clusterfuck way.

None of this matters though. This shit was never supposed to be a universe. It was supposed to be stand alone superman movies that got hijacked into an extended universe because Avengers did well. And it shows.

Lex was a miscast basedboy with daddy issues.

It's legitimately the best capeshit movie of the last 20 years but it's still only a 7.5/10

they tried to play catch up with marvel and threw in 'the dark knight returns', 'death of superman', and 'wonder woman/trinity' stories into a single movie.
