Do you agree that this was the perfect conclusion to the story and should have ended here?

Yeah, I actually wouldn’t mind if it ended here. I like how Luke is wearing a variation of the smuggler get up that Han Solo wears. The adventures that Luke, Han and chewbacca went on after the credits rolled is probably cooler than anything the sequels came up with.
No, Return of the Jedi did that. "It ends at part six." -Lucas
No, the RotJ ending is perfect.
There are four versions of Star Wars
>Star Wars the Movie
>Star Wars the Trilogy
>Star Wars the Saga
>Star Wars the Saga plus Disney's fanfiction
Only Star Wars 1977 was self contained. Phantom Menace was close, but kept alluding to Palpatine.
Just watch the original and nothing else. Nothing is added by the rest.
I agree with this.
The only thing is that Vader is a loose end. I sort of wish Han Solo blew him up at the end instead of him spinning off into space.
>I sort of wish Han Solo blew him up at the end instead of him spinning off into space.
He did in "War of the Stars" which you really need to watch. Part II even has evil Luke. (the first one is better)
I think the viewer can assume he's pretty much fucked anyways.
Eh, him flying off isn’t really a loose end.
In the second act of the movie, Luke, Obi-Wan and Han see that lone Tie Fighter that flies past them before they find out about the Death Star.
LUKE: It followed us!
BEN: No. It's a short range fighter.
HAN: There aren't any bases around here. Where did it come from?
. . .
BEN: A fighter that size couldn't get this deep into space on its own.
At the end of Star Wars, the Death Star is destroyed, Vader’s ship is damaged and he’s out in deep space all alone. You could easily say he was fucked and died out there. What the fuck was he going to do.
>Luke's Jedi heritage and training with the lightsaber was incomplete.
>Galactic Empire still controls the Galaxy
>Vader and the other mofs still alive to rule
It could have ended with 4, but there was definitely more story to be told.
>Vader’s ship is damaged and he’s out in deep space all alone. You could easily say he was fucked and died out there. What the fuck was he going to do.
someone in a position of power like Vader could contact a rescue fleet to save him.
>What the fuck was he going to do.
His TIE Advanced prototype had a hyperdrive, so he went to Coruscant.
>His TIE Advanced prototype had a hyperdrive,
Was this stated in episode 4?
He’s got that life support suit on. He could probably last a few weeks out in space, no problem.
Why was he breathing all heavy in a panic then?
I don’t think X-Wings, Tie Fighters, and Y-Wings had that kind of tech in the original film. They were just fighter vehicles.
He was rapidly spinning in circles, and his ship could have exploded during that time.
It couldve, was a nice ending. But VI made for a great ending to the series. Vader is redeemed, and the Empire is gone
Plus, we got this out of it

>X-Wings,
X-Wings are literally shown jumping to lightspeed in the other films and yes they fucking count.
It's been accepted for decades that Vader survived by using a hyperdrive in his TIE that had more features than normal TIES. End of story.
>Why was he breathing all heavy in a panic then?
I like how you ignore how he calmed down, leveled out (in space?) his fighter and then flew off like nothing happened complete with original normal TIE sounds.
OG Star Wars is the only one worth watching in 2019. Empire has actually aged pretty poorly, and only has the Vader duel to prop it up.
I'd give a lot to experience this movie as a late teen/early adult in '77. I was 2 at the time.
>Empire has actually aged pretty poorly
Good bait.
Nice rare pic.
Oh yeah I definitely agree with this. It’s something I always think about.
Each Star Wars movie is worse than the last. They get progressively worse with each new iteration. That 1977 original is like the heart of it all and everything after just makes it feel cheaper and cheaper.
I love the Empire Strikes Back. Not as much as the first one, but it’s great. I like how they made Vader more sinister, I think the stop motion AT-ATs are fantadtic, I dig the fact that the heroes are on the run from the Empire and bounty hunters and I love the cold/blue aesthetic.
But the second it’s revealed that Vader and Luke are related, the series falls apart and each movie after is a “reaction” to that moment. It’s what I call “Skywalker phenomenon” where they try to connect everything and everyone and it blows everything out of proportion.
The original Star Wars feels huge, like anything is possible, then it just comes to a halt. Having Luke be Vader’s son is okay, it’s a good twist, but then it just snowballs into this endless mess that we now have.
>Jedi
Luke and Leia are now brother and sister/Skywalker are now important
>Menace
Anakin built C-3PO and blew up a thing when he was a kid/midichlorians/chosen one prophecy
>Clones
Boba Fett is the reason the Empire comes into existence. Lars is Anakin’s step brother
You get the idea. The series just gets dumber and dumber with each new movie, and it goes back to the “I am your father” moment. It’s built up to the point where you get the complete stupidity that is The Last Jedi, which the new movie is desperately trying to move away from.
Star Wars is the only good Star Wars movie because it is what it is, it’s not trying to “explain” anything or shock it’s audience with lame plot twists. It’s just a good old fashioned movie.
