Post yfw you realize Perfect's video is actually a sequel to 1979 with all the same actors from the original video
Because record companies were still a thing so most of the best bands were signed to major labels.
Those labels wanted to make music videos so they hired young and talented directors to make them.
That's why the 70s it's just a bunch of guys in bellbottoms playing in front of a static backdrop while the 00s are just fake rappers throwing fake money in the air.
It was before MTV got pozzed
underrated song. Gets completely overshadowed by 1979
They were still sinking money into vids with directors that had ideas. They had evolved from 80s music vids (which I love) but still wanted to be creative. Late 90s was the end of creativity in pop music and vids.
Get the fuck outta here with that trash, let me post some real kino.
youtube.com
I remember seeing this music vid as a kid on tv and feeling sad for the girl
youtube.com
>mfw every song you liked when you were a kid is about cuckolding
Not as kino as 90s R&B videos.
Billy Corgan is a wrestling promoter now. I love that fact.

A lot of people write this band off as the deep-voice-meme-band, but they were legitimately good
I am almost certain that is the early 2000s look
god if only they knew how bad things would get in 20 years
youtube.com
See if you can spot Kelsey Grammar (Frasier)
Bad enough for Chris Cornell to be murdered in a staged suicide for trying to expose the child trafficking ring going through North and Central America
I used to hate this song, but after having it stuck in my head for a week when I had the flu, I learnt to appreciate it
source
*sips* foo fighters, now THAT was a band, yup.
That's what it is. I know, from looking at all the data, researching it, and studying and watching the enemy.
because rock music used to sell, which meant a bigger video budget, dumbass.
only real niggas know who has the best music videos
>Smashing Pumpkins
>Smiling politely
I found out about this band quite recently (i am not american) and love them
my fav song youtu.be
I never had a full-on emo phase but this album is so goddamn good and the video is pretty dope.

to be fair 1979 is a preternaturally good rock or pop or whatever song
that first album they did had a really sad superman song. they were talented musicians.

Ah shit, i was meant to post Du Hast.
Anyway, here 90s.
youtube.com
The internet killed the old much more lucrative music industry. Creativity was rewarded and money poured in. Not saying it shouldn't have happened though.
My third kid
A boy will be born next month:)
I was born in 95 and the nineties were cheesy as fuck. I have little nostalgia for that decade. The eighties were much cooler
youtube.com
>95
confirmed for not a 90s kid
you can't have nostalgia for what you didn't experience, you can only fake it. go to bed, kid.
I find the period in the 90s between grunge dying and Limp Bizkit/Nsync getting popular to be fairly decent.
t. 90s baby zoomer with no memory of the decade
I grew up playing vice city so yeah I'm nostalgic for the eighties
that's faking it, dumbass.
Everlong by Foo Fighters really takes me to a unique place in life.
my parents had given me a pile of random CDs but I didn't fall in love with music until a friend gave a burned copy of The Colour and the Shape in 1997
Because back then record companies still shelled out millions for them
Watch these one guys, you'll never hear about them otherwise. Here's some more:

If you pay close attention to the lyrics it sounds like it's about a serial killer
Now HERE was an underrated band. Everyone remembers No Rain, but their entire catalog was phenomenal. Great music to listen to when you were smoking weed with your friends after school. The same applies to Hanson
