>Netflix >Amazon >HBO >Hulu >Disney+ >Apple's upcoming service >Facebook's upcoming service >Criterion >live TV services like Sling, YoutubeTV, DirecTV, Philo, PSVue >dozens of smaller TV-channels that have their own app-based streaming service
Remember when you thought you were going to SAVE MONEY thanks to the internet?
Instead, you're going to become a streamcuck. It will be the new thing to be. Every month, you will have like 10 separate bills to pay. Won't that be fun, Yea Forums? Paying more bills for TV than you do for basic utilities?
At least it's better than being a dirty, stealing pirate, right?
I have Amazon Prime, that's it, and it's more for the free fast shipping than anything else.
Xavier Carter
I like how this all started because we were sick of TV and shit. Now it's TV on demand. And every streaming service is a channel.
Isaac Reed
Thank god for piracy or I'd actually have to pay to post here.
Aiden Hernandez
Mubi, only Mubi and my local video store. Thank u
Jacob Perez
Well Hulu comes with spotify premium, which I already use to keep myself focused during work And Amazon prime I have like the user above said for the shipping Then Netflix I share someone else's account, but I'd pay $15 a month or whatever for it And HBO Go I use my parents tv subscription, otherwise I would just go without that one
Julian Lewis
None. I don't even have internet other than mobile hotspot.
Wyatt Richardson
Each of my siblings have a subscription to a different site, and we all share accounts.
Anthony Sullivan
Ok now you gotta tell us who has what.
Evan Sanchez
Mubi and the Criterion channel, unless you're a fucking pleb
Adam Ross
Simple. Subscribe to one, binge, end subscription, repeat.
Anthony Harris
I'm only paying for Netflix Amazon Hulu Youtube Red HBONOW CBS All Access DCUniverse Crunchyroll
I do not pay for any of those. You're a straight-up retard if you pay for any of this shit.
Gavin Walker
>can only put Plex on smart-tv >but it's got shit subtitle functions and the picture stream quality is worse than Kodi's I just want the Kodi goodness without needing to hook my computer up.
Xavier King
>I just want the Kodi goodness without needing to hook my computer up. That's why I bought a Synology NAS. It torrents for me AND streams 4K to my TV.
>I just want the Kodi goodness without needing to hook my computer up. What are you talking about? I watch all my movies from my desktop PC to my Kodi-enhanced FireTV 4K stick via my home network.
Thomas Gomez
>the picture stream quality is worse than Kodi's I stream those 4k remux and they look incredible. Youtube, netflix, everything looks like shit compared to a 4k movie on plex Am I missing something by not using kodi?
Easton Wood
wish Kodi was on roku so i could see wut the fuss is about. But Fire is such shit
Jonathan Morales
What are you guys talking about? Kodi just streams the raw data from any share on your PC, NAS, whatever. Does Plex transcode or something?
Julian Evans
>wish Kodi was on roku so i could see wut the fuss is about. It's the same as the Roku Media Player on your Roku but way more powerful and decodes every format you throw at it.
Jace Hill
>implying anybody actually pays for all those at once Everyone that I know either pirates, borrows accounts from friends/family (I, my brother, and both my step-sisters all use my step-mother's Netflix), or just subscribes to one service at a time but rotate between providers every few months as new content is released. I don't know anybody that actually has an HBO account all the time; everyone just subs for GOT and leaves once it's over.
Mason Peterson
>paying The only bill I pay monthly on digital stuff is my VPN.
>Roku Media Player on your Roku I hate how the Kodi Jews gimp that thing. It could be just as good as Kodi but they know people will just use it instead of their shitty services and other streaming platforms.
Parker Kelly
I use just a hdmi cable and a cheap notebook.
Why complicate stuff?
Henry Anderson
Right now I have: Directv Prime Netflix ESPN+
But after GoT ends I'm gonna take a good hard look at replacing Directv with something like Sling.
Andrew Gray
>It's the same as the Roku Media Player on your Roku ah. I'll stick to Plex then
Zachary Miller
>I pay monthly on digital stuff is my VPN. That's disgusting. You don't need that. You're still paying too much. I make a lot of money for my age and I still pirate with no VPN because I used to run my college's DC++ network with my friends and now I know all the ways to pirate with nobody knowing I do it.
Sebastian Sullivan
We are all really impressed
Nolan Harris
>I use just a hdmi cable and a cheap notebook. That's nigger shit. I just have a desktop with 8TB of storage and Kodi just plays everything from a Samba share to my TV over the existing router. It takes a minute to set up.
Levi Allen
>KG > Mubi and Criterion KG?
Jace Cox
>paying There is no stream service with a service as good as torrenting. Whenever I see a worthwhile movie mentioned in here I just download it, while in streaming services I have to suck it up and watch something else if it isn't there.
You can’t always find a torrent either, and if you can it’s usually not very good quality. You’ll have a hell of a time finding the movie you want in 4K, and if you can, it’ll take up half your hard drive
Eli Turner
Out of all that shit how many shows are worth watching?
Stream shills like you should at least try to pretend you're not braindead about using the internet.
Anthony Adams
>KG? It's a private tracker that only allows actual kino to be uploaded.
Connor Harris
lol are you implying the 4k streaming those platforms offer are equal to 4k blu ray rips?
Colton Gray
if you are looking for old or obscure tripe, then sure.
Jeremiah Myers
>You can’t always find a torrent either Yes you can >and if you can it’s usually not very good quality. This is utter bullshit. >You’ll have a hell of a time finding the movie you want in 4K This is also bullshit.
>and if you can, it’ll take up half your hard drive Maybe if you have an 80GB HDD
Ethan Gray
>how many shows are worth watching? Like 5% of shows, which are the ones you torrent for free instead of paying for all this trash.
Luis Carter
There was some school shooting in my country brazil with a dude who uses local imageboards involved, so I'm kinda scared about the police sniffing my ass. I also end up using it for torrenting tough. But in here you don't get rekt for pirating stuff because everyone thinks copyright is the gayest shit.
Depending on the country you may get rekt for torrenting, and a VPN may prove necessary tough. Mostly in europe.
user, if you can't easily find a movie torrenting, you absolutelly won't find it in streaming services either. Usually if I can't find in torrents I go to regular virus filled websites and search for it until I find it.
>You’ll have a hell of a time finding the movie you want in 4K, and if you can, it’ll take up half your hard drive Half my hard drive in a movie? Did I came back to 2005, were 160GB hard disks were the bomb? user, a 4K movie is nothing for my hard disks, or for the hard disk of anyone who bought it in the second half of this decade.
not american or euro , but paying a single dime on a streaming platform is retarded take netflix example , the southamerican version doesnt have not even 35 % of the USA content ...so no im never going to spend a single dime on streaming while the movies tv shows are fractured in 23 different stores , i pirated since 2002 and will keep doing till end of times, on the net you always have either onine or torrent all the content i need without spending a single dollar
Justin Rogers
None, I'll continue to download via links to Mega posted on forums, or through torrenting shows right after they air / stream live via torrent trackers.
1) Join the Holy Trinity aka Private torrents, private usenet, and private DDL sites. You have to be invited, be there when they open their doors, or put some effort into joining via their IRC interviews.
2) Read guides like this that show you how to become a better pirate. If you're a dumbass who can't read or learn from this, you don't deserve to get stuff for free.
I just wait an hour after whatever I want to see airs and then torrent it. I don't understand you faggots on here that pay money for anything besides high speed internet.
Nathaniel Ramirez
It's not about being poor, it's about only giving money to those who deserve it.
John Green
>I just wait an hour after whatever I want to see airs and then torrent it. If you're on the West Coast of the USA, shows like Game of Thrones will be downloadable 3 hours before they air for you.
Brayden Bennett
Or you can be alpha and have income but pirate so nobody gets your hard earned cash.
Nathaniel Smith
BRO, THE CORPORATION THAT OWNS PRACTICALLY EVERYTHING NEEDS MONEY FOR THEIR STREAMING SERVICE. YOU CAN'T PIRATE THEIR STUFF BRO. THEY'LL GO COMPLETELY BANKRUPT BRO.
Maybe it's just my tv or network, but Plex periodically has moments where the picture goes ultra-blurry with parts of the screen not moving or some shit. Never once had that problem when I used Kodi to stream to a laptop hooked up to the tv.
Isaiah Flores
this is nothing but a repeat of video game console wars
in the end only three will last (probably netflix, amazon and disney)
Jason Morgan
Sounds like your network has wifi dropouts. Get a better wifi setup or just use ethernet.
I don't know why anybody uses Plex over Kodi, though.
Daniel Robinson
>living in a country where you need to hide to pirate I bet you think that you are free too.
Dominic Russell
Why the hell would I get it only with Plex, though? It's not like I have the problem with any other app on the tv or streaming anything to the laptop. It's only Plex that ever does it. And believe me, if I could put Kodi on my tv I'd choose it any time. But it's just way simpler to use the Plex app and browse using the remote, instead of having to start up the Kodi laptop and then use a wireless keyboard to browse around. I also don't have to put up with the fan noise from the laptop any more. It's minor, but once you're used to not having it you really notice it during quiet scenes.
Evan Rodriguez
>Why the hell would I get it only with Plex, though? Maybe Plex is transcoding.
Benjamin Powell
>And believe me, if I could put Kodi on my tv I'd choose it any time. But it's just way simpler to use the Plex app and browse using the remote, instead of having to start up the Kodi laptop and then use a wireless keyboard to browse around. Why is this such a issue? Just get a Fire Stick 4K for 40 bucks. Put it on your TV, Run Kodi on that. Make it play movies from any PC over wireless or ethernet with the remote. I do it all the time. Easy as fuck.
Brayden Morales
Nothing good lasts
Cooper Rodriguez
>just spend more money on another gadget with another remote Then I might as well use the laptop solution that already works, for free.
Daniel Jones
>Then I might as well use the laptop solution that already works, for free. Don't be cheap, user. The point of piracy is so you spend money on hardware you own instead of videos you don't own. I would never use a laptop on my TV. That's virgin shit. Also, if your smart TV is what is running Plex then that could be another factor because those are slow, especially the older ones. My Fire Stick 4K is plenty fast and always works.
Angel Cruz
Giving away money for "entertainment"
Carson Watson
>Don't be a cheap virgin, user, buy your Fire Stick™ 4K today!
Benjamin Gutierrez
This
Blake Rogers
That's just an example, faggot. He can buy anything instead of having a laptop hooked up to his TV like some child.
Matthew Rivera
Do it goy
Ryder Brooks
That might still be cheaper than cable lol. I'm sure it's different all over the country but it's becoming outrageous here.
Grayson Hall
user... this post is just one word... let me spell it out for ya
B-A-S-E-D! BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASED!
Brody Turner
>HOW MANY BILLS IS Yea Forums WILLING TO PAY TO KEEP UP AT THE WATERCOOLER? This is unironically the only reason to have a streaming account. I work with literal boomer engineers (high power industry), and lunch is the most monotonous talk about what garbage they're watching on Netflix. I will never pay for a streaming account. I would rather never watch TV again than pay for awful television shows.
The stuff on these networks is actually good abd without ads and the algorithm filters out all the brainlet normie shit i don’t want to see.
These services are worth more in every sense.
Alexander Garcia
I have Netflix for visitors and just download everything else. I'm not even going to fuck with signing up to half a dozen nigger services when I can just press a button and have the show in any format I want forever.
I consume movies in UHD remuxes. Direct stream with Plex. It’s grest but sucks for subtitles. And if HD audio is your thing you’d need a dif set up. I have Amazon prime but never watch anything. Sling & Netflix for the misses
Noah James
I can’t actually belive people shill here.
Like dude fuck off
Oliver Turner
>not torrenting/streaming stuff for free truly I live among cucks
