I don't know if this helps at all, bust especially for Alita's dialogue I find that trying to see her saying what I'm writing for her in my imagination makes it clearer what she would and would not say. There's for sure a vibe which tends to be much clearer with what she wouldn't say rather than what she would. You have an incredible skill in creating strong imagery of the world around your characters. I'm just a little jealous.

I think I've read this over once before a long time ago lol but thanks for the tip m8. Hardest thing for me to deal with is food. I don't eat much and while I want to gain weight, forcing it is really difficult. I probably eat once or twice a day, neither of which are large meals. None of them fell on the sand crying and praying for death, so that this pain finally ended.
No one wanted death as a deliverance.
And when she gets up, and keeps going, it is more than a triumph of the will.
She rises, not out of pride, but clinging to the memories of people who still live dear to her.
He gets up because they still need them.

And I'm starting to see here unexpected parallels with Agent K.
