Do you even care if your neverending piracy leads to the collapse of the entertainment industry when "nobody buys movies and TV anymore"?
Obviously it won't happen, but lets say it actually did happen...

>collapse of the industry
>no more canned starshit
>no more canned capeshit
>no more canned corpseshit
>no more canned libshit
How can I help accelerate this?
Nope. If anything it's delicious irony, Hollywood was started due to patent dodgers running away from Edison's lawyers.
>I only care If it's independent creators being ripped off
Why?
Personally, I wouldn't mind Hollywood collapsing on itself. There's plenty good movies coming from outside that it's become a cancer on cinema.
i saw that the guy who holds the lighting and microphone booms gets like 40k/yr? You could pay a beaner 10 bucks an hour to do that job
None of your fucking business >:(
>paying beaners instead of your fellow white men
Sup Republicuck
You're fucking selfish for pirating. How are film producers ganna afford another gold plated swimming pool?
it literally doesn't matter, it's a tiny minority of people that pirate.
just start a thread about torrents, and see the flood of zoomers who think using a torrent client and hooking up your pc to your tv with hdmi is some sort of arcane knowledge
we must invade iran immediately!!! and then accept all the refugees into our country as well!!!!
Of course I don't care.
>Are you saying you don't WANT to pay to watch the same old shit that a boardroom full of old Jews churns out based on a formula they created by market analysis?
When's the last time you watched an indie film not produced by Jews?
>collapse of the entertainment industry
Good riddance. I haven't bought a movie in 15 years, suck my dick Hollywood.
the movie industry, the music industry and the game industry are in desperate need of a reboot
nope
Because indie darlings making movies with toilet paper rolls and pipe cleaners need that income.
I have a few zoomer friends. They fucking rent. They've watched me torrent films, they still pay to borrow a copy then rush to give it back before incurring late charges.
I can't explain the mind of a zoomer, I often wonder if that's an oxymoron.
There will be a time when piracy is so out of control that the only way the entertainment can make money is off sponsorship. So don't complain when said piece of work is a 2 hour shill instead of an artistic work.
>04/12/19(Fri)18:56:55 No.112810692
Game of Thrones is the most pirated TV show in history, yet they still make millions of dollars. Without us, they are nothing. FBI Negroes would think long and hard not to tread on piratefags while jerking off richfags. They would be helping pedowood degenerates further plunge the US into hell.
>I have a few zoomer friends. They fucking rent.
All the zoomers I know just go to sites like 123 movies or use mom's netflix.
while it was true that boomers were a terrible generation, its often overlooked that each generation after them is much worse. we aren't going to make it.
>Game of Thrones is the most pirated TV show in history
The funny thing is that people I know online and IRL keep asking me how to watch that show without paying HBO.
The closer Sunday gets, the more I get asked that.
no. because, entertainment is forced to adapt and take on new form.
do your part and continue pirating
I'm 30yo boomer and I rent for 2 bucks because I like to watch all of the extra content about making the movie that's on the disc. And I make 80 bucks an hour so I don't care about that pocket change. It would cost me more to wait for the movie to download.
Right because when people torrent they just sit on their ass watching it download.
>haven't watched since season 4
>tfw seeded almost 200GB in 2 weeks with this one torrent
thanks for the ratio GoT plebs
takes 3-5min to download a 5gb bluray rip, family
>73GB for 7 seasons
Imagine the shit quality
nah wouldn't care desu
fuck janny
>seeded
this is worse than the zoomer problem
When I come home from work and want to watch a movie, I'm not going to wait 2 hours for it to download. I could download in advance but I'd have to be a lot more organized than I am.
Renting is worth 90 seconds of my time. Unless torrents can beat that I'll stick to renting.
just picked the one with most leechers, not like I'm gonna watch this trash
Does it come with all the extras?
if you're just getting a rip, no
i never bother with extras. but if that's what you're into, buying is fine. I'm just letting you know, if you ever wanna torrent a movie or tv show, it's pretty easy. there might be situations in which you can't find something via normal means, but it's on iptorrents/piratebay or some other warez site
Seriously, unless it's an old or obscure thing I'm downloading, a torrent is usually finished in the time it takes me to drop a shit.
I can understand the extra content part at least, usually if I'm downloading something the only extra I want is the .srt, I don't really care if I miss out on commentary tracks and bloopers or whatever, myself.
>2 hours for it to download.
Are you on dialup still or what? I don't even have a particularly fast connection and I haven't had to wait that long for something to finish in a long-ass time.
I plan to put the latest GOT on my Plex server so all my friends can watch it remotely no matter where they are. It will be the 5GB Amazon rip that comes out on the East Coast of course. All I have to do is text them when its up. I have it all set up to send them a group text when I have it up.
That's 7 people who won't be paying HBO this year. And whoever else is sitting with them when they use my server.
And I don't even like GOT.
>want to watch a movie, I'm not going to wait 2 hours for it to download.
It takes me only a few minutes to download a Bluray. You're shitty at piracy and your connection is shit.
>Are you on dialup still or what?
I live in Commiefornia, the connection quality is atrocious because all pooloos download their bollywood trash.
by the way, i am pretty seasoned at getting into private trackers, but it's not for the faint of heart. Private trackers are pretty tough to get into now. They closed their assholes tight, and if you lose access to one, you're kind of screwed. Your next bet is VPN/seedbox. Or usenet? I've never used usenet before. But that goes against the principles of pirating shit.
>Does it come with all the extras?
Pic related, nigger. I have the choice of any format I want. Or just the extras.
Every movie in the world has a page like this for me.
>GOT makes millions
source?
Nope, let it burn.
Can you show me the one for The Old Man and His Gun? That's the one where I liked the extras a lot lately.
I will pirate and share independent films and there's nothing you can do about it. MUHAHAHAHA!
How weird, I would have expected coasties to have better speed than me, I'm way up here at the top of the midwest in the woods and my speed is pretty good. Probably because there's only one person per square mile, but still.
>Do you even care if your neverending piracy leads to the collapse of the entertainment industry when "nobody buys movies and TV anymore"?
Do you even think there is anything worth of saving of the modern "entertainment" industry?
Yes.
>Can you show me the one for The Old Man and His Gun?
I can download the entire disc with extras or as small as I want it. There's also a 4K.
I laugh at people who don't know how to do this.
Nah, the speeds are trash when everyone has 50 devices all streaming at the same time.
I know how to do it, just can never be bothered. Again, that's 90 seconds of my time to get all this.
Because not having income directly leads them to not make anymore shit, contrary to any bug corp who sits on comfortable amounts of cash while being able to rely on basically unlimited free loans in the current economic context.
Then you cry cuz you're a lonely faggot
>Again, that's 90 seconds of my time to get all this.
I'd rather do that then give some shitty company any money.
Nah. I'm sure if all media disappeared I'd find something better to do with my time. It's just so easy and distracting to consume it at home right now though.
Kek no. I share this with my gf.
I don't care.
What about all the people the billion dollar studios employ to put their high dollar vision onto the big screen?
What a faggot can't spare 90 seconds
the entertainment industry is jews hiring jews for films that have turned into nothing but mcdonald cookie cutter flicks for the sake of "profit", which is just money laundering, or diversity hires to pat themselves on the back with their multi-million dollar costing events
so my answer is yes
yes I do want it to collapse
maybe we can start getting an industry that isn't about making billions but actual works of art again
The funny thing is that when he rents a movie, he's spending more than the 90 seconds of work his job paid him to do.
entertainment industry is a jew clusterfuck of money schemes
the sooner it burns the sooner we get something real in it's place
Maybe I'm reading this wrong. Are you saying that 90 seconds is just too much time to spend?
I'm talking about renting. It's 2 bucks, I make that much in 90 seconds. It's the same as 1 can of Monster Zero Ultra.
They make billions because they do make actual works of art. You're just butthurt millions of viewers do not agree with your definition of art.
And if there's a line, 90+ seconds waiting to ring up his rental, plus driving the movie back to the store to give it back to them later.
Downloading a movie doesn't even require moving more than your hand a couple of inches.
>I'm talking about renting. It's 2 bucks
Maybe if you're going to the DVD kiosk for something that has been out for years.
Renting something on Amazon that is new is more than 2 bucks, assclown.
Oh I'm sorry does HBO kick down the door to Mike the sound guys apartment and force him to pay them back everytime I torrent GoT?
Here's the kicker, the rental box is on the first floor of my building, I pick the movie up when I pick up my mail.
I disagree
>tfw been paying off $250,000 fine for the past 25 years for renting illegal VHS tapes
still have $40,000 or so to go after spending 5 years in prison bros, I've been working at the kinoplex the past several years and Chick-Fil-A like 15 or so hours a week the past two years. I'm 38 years old. Kill me.
Of course I don't give a shit. I'm proudly pirating and I think that torrenting is actually having a little bit of a renaissance right now.
Listen, if I can't torrent your product, I'm not going to pay for it. It's that simple. I would rather just not watch than pay. So the question is, would the producers of material rather have me not pay and not watch, or not pay and watch and potentially talk about your piece of media? Obviously the latter. They should be thanking me for giving their creation my attention, its rude to ask for money on top of my valuable time.
I don't give a fuck, I'm never paying for anything I don't want to. The only thing I pay for is 35mm/70mm film screenings at the local theater. Of course I have no choice but to pay for this but even if I could walk in for free, I wouldn't, since the local theater has to spend the time and money organizing and shipping these films to them.
I'm talking redbox, they have new stuff. Even on Amazon, if you follow justwatch.com you can find tons of good movies to rent for a dollar.
Makes a bit more sense I guess, I always forget those vending machines exist since I've never used one. Do you just drop the disc back into it or what? I've seriously never bothered investigating those machines enough to know.
>opening a port on your firewall/router to a proprietary service
user...
>the rental box is on the first floor of my building, I pick the movie up when I pick up my mail.
There's no rental place that charges 2 bucks for a Bluray that came out that week. For older movies, sure, but the selection sucks since you have to walk up to a kiosk that can't hold many movies.
Meanwhile, my torrent site has all the movies that have ever been sold, in every format, and I can get it by just typing and clicking in 10 seconds, and waiting 2 mins for the download to finish.
I can literally have any movie I want in the time it takes you to get downstairs to that shitty kiosk.
Can you kill me first? I'm so tired. ;_;
Yes, you come up, pick a movie, slide your credit card and you got it. Then bring it back, select return, put it back in and you're done.
The whole process takes less than 30 seconds if you know what you want to rent.
What tracker is this? I stopped using privates after what went down and I moved away but now that public trackers are shit I think I'm gonna try to get one and a get a good ratio going next time one has public invites
was your VCR connected to the internet? Nice bait bro
this is fucking based. Why go through the effort though if you don't like the show? Do you have an axe to grind with HBO or something?
>There's no rental place that charges 2 bucks for a Bluray that came out that week. For older movies, sure, but the selection sucks since you have to walk up to a kiosk that can't hold many movies.
Check out redbox.com. You can check prices online.
I just rented this last week: redbox.com
It was trash
>I'm talking redbox,
Good luck going to a box that doesn't have its stock already rented out by somebody else.
Meanwhile, I downloaded the movie already in the same quality as your Bluray for free using nothing but my phone.
>was your VCR connected to the internet?
Sort of, I sold VHS tapes off my Geocities and Angelfire sites. I was also arrested at the age of 13 and sent to prison.
>>Check out redbox.com. You can check prices online.
>
>I just rented this last week: redbox.com
2 dollars per day??? Fuck that.
Kek I could get that in 2 minutes for free without getting up from my chair to go to a Redbox.
These days? I'd rather film collapse.
>Good luck going to a box that doesn't have its stock already rented out by somebody else.
Somehow I've never had this problem. Maybe in the past but people don't seem to be renting anymore which suits me.
How long does it take you to watch a movie? I just rent it, watch it and return it. 2 bucks is nothing.
>Why go through the effort though if you don't like the show? Do you have an axe to grind with HBO or something?
My friends want to see it. I have a box already. When the show comes out I get a notification, download it to my box with 1 click, and I just send them a group text that its there. The rest is up to them. Takes me literally seconds.
This. Imagine paying money to be disappointed in something then having to give the product back like a good boy.
Just fucking steal it, Jesus.
>How long does it take you to watch a movie? I just rent it, watch it and return it. 2 bucks is nothing.
Know what's better than 2 bucks being billed to me every day I have a Bluray? Zero bucks being billed to me for whatever time I want.
I will never understand why people pay for something when they learned how to torrent during college.
Because it's too much work to save 2 bucks. And I don't keep the movie for days, it's one night, 2 bucks, done.
>When the show comes out I get a notification
HOW????????????
fpbp. Hollywood want to destroy all cultures and be all that's left, the internet gives us a new alternative.
>Because it's too much work to save 2 bucks
You really need to tell us how that's work. Seriously, please break down what's hard about the following:
>navigate to a site
>click the magnet
>watch the movie download in a minute or two
>watch the movie and forever own a copy you can share with friends or family
>btw this costs no money
>Because it's too much work to save 2 bucks.
What work? I just move my hands for a few seconds and it's downloading. I have it playing on my TV in a couple of minutes. I just turn on my TV and play it with my FireTV remote. Or I can play it on my laptop, phone, tablet, any screen in the house. For free.
Meanwhile you have to go to a box to get a scratched disc. And bring it back! Fuck. That's way more work than what I did and you have to pay on top of that with a clock ticking.
He also charges it to his (((credit card)))
You're not liable for watching an illegal copy. Read the warning.
>Reproduction
>Distribution
>Exhibition
You're not allowed to copy it, or show it for money without paying for the license from whoever holds the rights for distribution.
>HOW
Pic related. See the red line? Are people on Yea Forums really spending hours of their time shitposting instead of having this set up?
>He also charges it to his (((credit card)))
I have that too but I'm not going to give it to redbox so my information gets sold when they sell my data or somebody hacks their site.
>it doesn't download in a minute or two, more like half an hour, connections are shitty in the sf bay area
>takes work to get on private trackers and the public ones don't have the smaller movies I like to watch
>I don't have friends or family
>I don't want to keep the movie
>2 dollars is no money to me
Hope that answers your questions.
Not that user but if you have their ap on your phone it can push notifications about new stuff.
It doesn't, it just paints an image of a life I can't fathom living.
>I just turn on my TV and play it with my FireTV remote. Or I can play it on my laptop, phone, tablet, any screen in the house. For free.
I like watching the movies on my home cinema projector so I don't care about any of those extra screens. And 2 dollars is free to me.
Bullshit. I have family there and their connection is fast. You're lying. Also, I'm on private trackers and it took me very little work to join because I was doing it while posting here after work.
An adult life where you don't care about 2 bucks every now and then? Don't worry, you never will.
It would be a good thing
>I like watching the movies on my home cinema projector
Post a picture of your setup.
Spoiler: you can't because there's no projector.
Maybe I could pay extra to Comcast for a faster connection but that defeats the purpose. I'd rather just rent a movie when I feel like it.
>Maybe I could pay extra to Comcast for a faster connection
But user, I thought you didn't care about money!!
It's all the same to paying for Comcast or paying for the movies. And the movies I don't have to pay for when I don't have the time to watch them. Again, defeats the purpose.
How much can it cost to have fast internet? I pay $70 for 1gbs fiber.
>67 episodes
>Average size is 1.1GB per episode
If you're devoting more than that on this shit show, your priorities are shit quality.
>"I'm literally too stupid to click my mouse a few times"
There but for the grace of GoG go I.
>the public ones don't have the smaller movies I like to watch
Name a small movie that you can't find on public trackers. You can't. Because you aren't even on private trackers.
I pay around $30, would probably also have to pay 70 for faster internet.
Arguing with a phoneposter. I should have known better.
Here's an older photo I took when watching Halloween. You can see the ceiling on the top. Imagine
Yeah you can take that anywhere. I have relatives with projector rooms in their house. Show us a timestamped pic of your actual projector. I'm waiting.
Oh fuck off.
You could always download bit by bit. Though if you're not organized I'm guessing you only use public trackers.
Yep just as I thought. Lying. If I had a projector in my apartment, I could easily take it a pic of it, but you can't because you don't have shit.
Looks like PassThePopcorn. Most 'open invite' trackers don't really compare to be honest. If you were on What then you should know the work involved for an actual good tracker.
Whatever you say bro. A good quality projector costs as much as a cell phone. If you're thinking I'm setting up a photo to prove to you that I have a cell phone, or a laptop or a projector then that's a no. Believe whatever you want.
>Arguing with a phoneposter. I should have known better.
You should know better than to rent, not sure why you think I'm mobileposting but then nobody's accusing you of being smart.
>now that public trackers are shit I think I'm gonna try to get one and a get a good ratio going next time one has public invites
That's a terrible idea. It doesn't work that way.
That's only because you don't have anything. I could easily take a pic of a projector in my home with a post-it on it, but I don't claim to own one. Also, a good projector is worth more than a phone. There's lot of shittier ones that do, though.
A regular quality phone will cost you $750, I paid $800 for my projector. Good projectors are really not as expensive as you think.
>"I waste money when I don't need to, that's what adults do"
>Good projectors are really not as expensive as you think.
You mean passable. A decent one is over $1000. I wouldn't spend less than $2000 on the one I buy when I get a house. If you can't afford that, then money matters more to you than you think. There's normal people who spend $2000 on a Superbowl TV.
>"I waste money when I don't need to, that's what adults do"
No, adults don't treat 2 dollars as money. It's pocket change.
If any industry should fall into a dark age, its Entertainment.
And I'm not even a pirate.
A TV and a projector is a completely different buy. Yes, if I was buying a TV I would shell out $3k for an LG C9 or something comparable. In terms of projectors 4K is useless because you lose that resolution on the broad PSF and you can get a projector with P3 primaries and reasonable brightness for less than $1k.
rent what? does physical media exist anymore?
>t. Redbox shill
>No, adults don't treat 2 dollars as money. It's pocket change.
Why waste money at all? I'd rather put those 2 dollars towards the drink I get when I watch the movie.
There hasn't been a single good movie in years so no, i don't give a fuck.
Family Video is still around, at least in my town.
We're supposed to be impressed by his conspicuous consumption.
A large number of movies are already shilling products and have been gor decades.
Beetlejuice was shilling candy bars for instance.
Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man weirdly supposedly wasn’y shilling products though?
Don't use it if you don't want to. I'm happy being one of few customers because that means easier access to the movies I like.
Again, once 2 dollars doesn't count as money, then spending it doesn't feel like a waste. I like watching movies, 2 dollars is a fair price for a movie with all the extra material on disc that I like to watch as well.
Boomer here. I haven't paid for entertainment since I went to college in 2000 and started using Napster. Books. Films. Anime. Music. All at my finger tips backed up on drives. I save that money and buy cars, food, vacations and other fun things that enhance my life that no Jew can touch.
Buyfags sit around with massive media collections seething. Dusting it. Moving it from one shit house to the next. Having to upgrade every three years and buy extra shit to justify it like TV's and equipment. Their tears as it breaks and requires endless maintenance.
The state.
Private tracker master race.
>conspicuous consumption.
it's sad when poor people think they are somebody because they spent $2 on a movie they could have gotten for free.
Meanwhile they can't even afford a nice car.
>2 dollars is a fair price for a movie with all the extra material on disc that I like to watch as well.
I download the disc for free, so it's not really a fair price unless you're a housewife who can't do anything on her own if not for Redbox.
Dude, I'm not telling you to stop downloading your movies. If you like it and it works for you, that's fine. But do you really think that 5 or 6 movies a month at 2 bucks is "conspicuous consumption"? Let's get serious here.
i dont care. there are enough good movies and tv shows from the 70s to now to keep me going for the rest of my life
Oh no! I'll just have to keep watching great old films, great foreign films, great indie films... Tragedy.
>I'm happy being one of few customers because that means easier access to the movies I like.
Now tell us what hot new releases are available at our local Redbox™!
My man, I don't even think I own any DVDs, just some VHS tapes from the before-times.
2 x 5 = $10 a month on rental fees, scale that up to a full year and you're paying at least $120 to own nothing. Let's assume this has been your average for the last decade and you've wasted over a grand on borrowing movies for a few days.
By all means though, keep renting, I suppose somebody has to.
>inb4 "Pah! $1200 is nothing to a wealthy man such as myself!"
>But do you really think that 5 or 6 movies a month at 2 bucks is "conspicuous consumption"? Let's get serious here.
I'm pretty sure he's using that ironically.
The CIA is intellectually bankrupt, paying for this shit is what foreign governments do.
>that no Jew can touch
Hoho you faggot. Anything you pay for, a Jew profits from.
>piracy is wro-
>My man, I don't even think I own any DVDs
I own exactly 1 DVD and the only reason I bought it was to rip it and put it online because it wasn't there before and it's still there now. Feels good.
Always rip whatever you find IRL that isn't online. Upload away!
Reminder that if the industry had its way in the 70s, home media wouldn’t be a thing. Yeah theft is theft but fuck ‘em.
>Now tell us what hot new releases are available at our local Redbox™!
There's nothing, don't go there, keep downloading stuff.
>2 x 5 = $10 a month on rental fees, scale that up to a full year and you're paying at least $120 to own nothing.
Somebody mentioned that for the same level of comfort, I'd have to pay 40 bucks more per month to upgrade my Internet connection, which I don't need for anything else. That's way more expensive in the grand scheme of things.
>I'm pretty sure he's using that ironically.
I really hope so.
Nope don’t give a shit. If it disappeared tomorrow the world would be a very interesting. Sure I wouldn’t have 7 fucking seasons of some show I like but I might actually engage with other human beings more.
I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW TO TORRENT SHIT. IM AN INVOLUNTARY STOOGE
>I'd have to pay 40 bucks more per month to upgrade my Internet connection
To download movies, which you'd own, instead of paying to borrow. How many times do you just throw money away because "eh, it's only a few bucks"? I wonder how much money you've wasted for nothing over the years, and what you might do if you had all that cash back and in a pile in front of you. Who am I kidding you'd probably run out and rent more fucking DVDs with it.
Watching almost all US cinema borders on physical pain for me. I get no pleasure or entertainment from any of this. I just know Yea Forums is very very important.. for now.
>To download movies, which you'd own, instead of paying to borrow
I don't want to own them. I just want to watch them and that's it. There's no added value for me here.
>How many times do you just throw money away because "eh, it's only a few bucks"?
Quite a bit, actually. When we go out with my coworkers, I'll frequently cover the bill to not waste time on splitting it and then Venmoing the shit out of it.
Imagine being an Yea Forumstard.
Those pathetic losers pay for RAW/Smackdown (cable $160) AND wwe ppvs (network $12). They give Vince McMahon over 2 grand a year for a product all they do is cry about.
Can you imagine giving Mickey 2 grand to watch Star Wars?!
Yea Forumstards are the single most pathetic fandom I've ever seen in my life and if Thanos snapped his fingers and cringey wrestling fans all disappeared, the world would be a better place!
>$160
wat
>Quite a bit, actually.
Godspeed, I hope your state falls into the sea. I'll rent you a life preserver, only $2.
Don't hate the player, hate the game. I'm also disgusted by how filthy rich California is but it's just how it is. And in the grand scheme of things, I'm frugal compared to some of my coworkers.
Why should you care for these meaningless tokens? they have no relationship with supply or demand
Seething FBI fag
>I'm frugal compared to some of my coworkers.
I believe you. "Waste not, want not" is the best way to describe the attitude of my home region, the people who spend their few dollars on shit like video rentals and lottery tickets are looked down on as being shortsighted and bad with money.
No.
Absolutely not.
Piracy was only an issue because of burning CDs and tapes. Piracy is no longer an issue in the digital age because they find a way to make money without even making a television commercial.
Includes internet for the streaming and 2 premium movie channels (HBO and Cinemax).
Alright, which one of you is shilling Yea Forums at the nursing home?
