Shows that should exist

>tfw no historical drama about the Peloponnesian War
>tfw no historical historical drama about the Peloponnesian War with the best general to fight on three sides, Alcibiades, as the protagonist

What are some other shows that should exist, but don't

Hourlong drama based on the legendary Marvel Comics "Bullpen."

I don't know the first thing about comics. What is the Bullpen and why would it make for interesting TV?

Seeing how they created the basis for nearly all the capeshit in theaters and on television today, there's probably a wealth of history to mine for episodes.

It would inevitably be ruined, like every other vaguely historical show.

There one, but it flew too close to the sun

>tfw no Band of Brothers style miniseries about a group of Roman soldiers in the Gallic Wars.

There hasn't much stuff about the Republic. Something about Roman soldiers during the Punic Wars would be breddy neat.

When is this board going to realize NOBODY LIKES historical epics anymore? They all bomb, universally. Ben-Hur was the last straw.

This is why they don't get made, and why there's zero interest for them among Hollywood. If they made money, they'd still be getting made.

Audiences want capeshit and nostalgia and there's nobody around who still remembers the Peloponnesian War to my knowledge

this is problematic

Are you saying that they need dragons and ice zombies to hold people's interest?

Nobody wants a fucking remake of a 1960s epic. They want new movies. Rome may not have gone for one of the less known stories from Roman history but the attention to detail and riding off the heels of Gladiator made it refreshing for audiences.

>tfw we'll never get rome kino again

You know a 30% of the characters (the most heroic ones) would be niggers, right? Might as well play Assassin's Creed Odyssey at that point

And how can you recast Charlton Heston? Ben Hur remains a great movie, so that any further adaptations will be in its shadow for a long time.

Delet this right now

And Rome has the interesting thematic aspect of the transition of a Republic into an Empire. The hypothetical Peloponnesian War series already has themes of democracy vs autocracy built into it with the conflict of Sparta and Athens to decide more than just who controls what territory, but who is right.

Yes. And quips.

Totally different cinematic atmosphere than Gladiator. The big summer blockbuster still worked.

Now if it's big budget and isn't MCU or nostalgic it will bomb

even though Persians weren't Muslims, people would still think you were trying to make Muslims look bad.

It's funny because literally ONLY you incels freak out about blacks in this stuff and very few of you are actually white. Mostly half-hispanic (western hemisphere) half-muslim world (eastern hemisphere) mutts

Of course people like historical epics still, they just don't like bad movies

Netflix will make/get license rights to a million shows having to do with the British Isles but the rest of Europe might as well not exist.

And only cucks, amerimutts and niggers are okay with it. To each their own

300 was already a movie

That's about the Persian War. However, Herodotus's Bizarre Adventures as he goes on a roadtrip through the ancient world, gathering all sorts of stories would be kino.
