>upset misogynistic redditors "no no how can a woman be intelligent when i am not! a man did it all i swear!"

It clearly states she didn't do much though

Idk what to believe. Was she actually the most prominent contributor in this project or is the media just showing her to push a narrative at the expense of the actual major contributors?

idiot that doesn't understand programming detected

>Was she actually the most prominent contributor in this project
not even close

You think a fucking female is more productive than a white male autist?

She's a cute! I'd rather her on the front page than some smelly incel!

I don't know enough about programming either. The press lies all the time, but people also sperg out about stuff all the time, so who know

really who gives a shit

based

At this point does it even matter?

the project is open source and written in python, you can easily see everything she has done and what she has done is barely anything go look for yourself

I don’t care either, this is just exhausting now

have sex permavirgin

JUST

...

People wouldn't sperg if the media didn't lie.

Who cares, the earth is flat. It's all Photoshop

So he did most of the work so a woman can take a shitty picture? That's not news.

fucking kek. I knew it. it's literally nothing. literally the instagram attention whore of this project

b&r

No she wasn't the most prominent contributor, not even close
That's not to disparage what she has achieved, but the media is just plain lying when they imply that she has pretty much sole responsibility for the black hole image.

Really it's a real shame that it was done this way. She still could have been a "role model" for "muh womyn in STEM" even with what she actually had done. Here's an example of a young woman who was part of one of the biggest projects in astrophysics, isn't that great? But instead femtards and the msm have to make her out to be the single biggest contributor in the whole project (when she wasn't) which implies her existing achievements weren't enough to be proud of.

Meanwhile they also gloss over all of the other contributors to the project, which was actually a collaborative global effort and not the result of one person's work. That is something more worthy of recognition.

I’ll give you an on topic answer

Hidden Figures

They need to placate the Diversity cultists.

But what if her code was more vital to the project than the other guy's code. I don't know anything about programming, but apparently the amount of code does mean anything, only the important code does

NO user VAGINA
VAGINA

Someone on /pol/ already combed through her code and found a lot of color change options and button resizing. Honestly nothing.

I used to work at an astronomy department at a university. Despite the grad students being pretty much 50/50 of very intelligent male and females it was still not good enough and all the efforts of the department seemingly are focused on more women and LGBTQ in astronomy and hardly any, you know astronomy.

When will election refugees just leave? Please go and stay go. I'm tired.

>woman makes the fundamental breakthrough which makes the project possible
>BUT BUT SOME AUTIST TECHNICALLY WROTE MORE CODE
okay yeah great, just pretend the genius is a nobody and the real hero is some jobber who did a bunch of groundwork anyone could have done

Good. The future belongs to her. We men have had our time, now it's hers.

what was this breakthrough she made?

Cognitive dissonance is painful aye m8

Congratulations, you clowned yourself

>/pol/ told me something that fits their narrative therefore it must be true

Pretty sure she did no such thing

Has she herself commented on it? Have a hard time imagining any scientist in this big of a project being okay with getting pretty much all the recognition, it could even potentially damage her career in future projects.

That blonde boi should step down and make way for the jewish intern. Know your place white boi.

Do you actually know that her code was more important than the rest?

most have sex thread ive ever seen keep it up incels lmao

Why are redditors such woman-hating assholes? Thank god I come to Yea Forums to get away with all that toxicity.

/pol/ claimed something that doesnt fit my narrative therefore it must be wrong

?

She was the team leader. Do you expect her to do everything?

When Frieza went to Namec to find the Dragon Balls, do you think he was planning to do it all by himself? Of course not. He sent his team and as the team leader, his role was to coordinate everyone's abilities and make sure that the individual talents are efficiently leveraged to maximze the combined team effort. In hindsight, there were a couple of things that Frieza could have differently but that's a different story.

He posted the pictures. You can go find the thread yourself if you want. Pretty easy to spot a black hole pic starting a thread. Must be hard being retarded.

Yes, she's the victim here because she gets all the credit for the work of a 200 people team.

>Have a hard time imagining any scientist in this big of a project being okay with getting pretty much all the recognition
Dude you clearly don't realise just how hard the "womyn in STEM" thing is being pushed an academia. The other project members are likely ready and willing to put her on a pedestal just because she's a woman and they've all been told how important that is throughout their academic careers.

yeah user if not for those damn fucks all the real people would still live in Eden, right?

>i don't care if it's true, if /pol/ said it i'm not going to accept it
back to discord

I think we’re waiting for r/the_donald and r/chapotraphouse to clear out of /pol/. I immigrated to the million dollar extreme subreddit and that was a fun place until the purges. I came home and /pol/ was a complete shit show. You can tell none of the old posters were there. I’ve been on Yea Forums since baneposting, which isn’t very long, but those were good times. When i came back here and found the old /pol/ posters I figured I’d see how it developed.

HONK

You became the biggest fag in this thread. Shameful

She is first author and lead of the project.
The guy was probably the one who actually wrote most of the work, but that is always the case. The programming is usually done by the junior collaborators because it is the easiest part of the job.

what was the breakthrough?

>It's another crying about reddit thread
where's the jannies?

>She was the team leader

And what are you willing to bet the reason for that is? I have a sneaking suspicion it's related to how girls in WoW guilds always wind up in Officer positions.

oh right. i need to go sleep

>"(Bouman) was a major part of one of the imaging subteams," said Vincent Fish, a research scientist at MIT's Haystack Observatory.
"One of the insights Katie brought to our imaging group is that there are natural images," Fish said. "Just think about the photos you take with your camera phone -- they have certain properties. ... If you know what one pixel is, you have a good guess as to what the pixel is next to it."
For example, there are areas that are smoother and areas that have sharp boundaries. Astronomical images share these properties, and you can mathematically encode these properties, Fish said.
Junior members like Bouman made significant contributions to the project, he added. Of course, senior scientists worked on the project, but the imaging portion was mostly led by junior researchers, such as graduate students and post docs.

>/pol/lack is a redditor
Wow what a shock

Oh geez. Bunch of incels trying to bring someone down because they happen to be a woman that did more for science than they ever will. Kindly fuck off.

Give sex.

>/pol/ said it therefore it's not true, no I'm not going to check for myself either
