Series starts out pretty good

>Series starts out pretty good
>Turns into complete shit suddenly
What are some examples of this? I could think of True Detective, but it's practically a totally different series at the end

peppermint is related to catnip, which is why the cat starts to trip when he chews through the wrapper. some cats can get high off peppermint and are severely attracted to it. they'll try to eat your toothpaste and gum if you don't put it up properly.

blacklist

Almost all of them?

Cats actually really hate peppermint, and it's bad for them, unlike catnip

Orange is the New Black

Homeland after the guy died, watching the blonde girl fuck a little brown boy and the bald guy going after a fat chick made no sense

Altered Carbon.
The while resistance plot turned it into the pure shit.

>WEN THE PEPPERMINT CONCENTRATE HITS

ANIMAL OLFACTORY SENSE IS EXTREMELY SENSITIVE

MUSTVE BEEN LIKE A NUKE WENT OFF IN ITS HEAD

It's because they don't even know if the next series will exist, it has to affect the quality of writing if you know that

Supernatural
>first season: good, comfy, monster of the week
>second season: that's pretty shit, but ok, it's not like there is anything better, at least the music is good
>third season and on: gay shit fuck dropped

Miami Vice
Lost
South Park

I think what really ruined the series is the lack of diversity

Vikings

Lost.

Altered Carbon
The Lost Room
Fringe

Attached: 2423.gif (500x500, 1.61M)

whats so bad about it

did you even watch it?

The terror

no

ALTERNATE UNIVERSE OLIVIA DUNHAM COULD GET IT

>WHEN YOU ALONE FIND THE NORTHWEST PASSAGE EVERYONE WAS AFTER THEN LAUGH IN THE FACE OF A SOUL EATING ESKIMO BEAR MONSTER

Fringe had more a gradual decline

Is S2 of True Detective really that bad? I only got around to S1 recently, went in completely blind and had a great ride. I downloaded S2 afterward, knowing its reputation, but I'm wondering if I should even really bother.

came here to say this. Im only still watching because I want closure and just want the series to end.

youtube.com/watch?v=y569bjfIAnk&t=53

it's never going to end. it's just gonna be one episode repeated ad infinitum

Game of Thrones

Dexter

I would say Dexter

What season did Dexter turn into shit?

>Homeland after the guy died
It went to shit after he didn't blow himself up

6. Don't let the plebs lie to you but Crash Override was one of the better big bads.

Westworld

S2 because S1 could never be replicated
S2 through S4 were still minimally watchable though, it turns into complete shit after that when Dexter completely becomes a plot device for himself

The Last Man on Earth when it turns out he is not the last man on Earth.

I know Yea Forums will shit on me but Arrow. It was so good the first seasons all the stuff on the island was LOST tier and then Olicity happened because the producers took the advice of Tumblrinas and it's been shit ever since. Not even decent capeshit. I still watch for closure cause supposedly next season is last and CWverse isn't long for this world. It's weird to invest in a show going to shit for like a decade.

ahem

You're not wrong. It just happened too late

S2 is a hoot. Don't listen to detractors. I still like S2 more than 3 which was a huge letdown. Just watch it but expect some massive memes dropping your way. It honestly should've been called something else than True Detective that way it wouldn't get shit on as much.

>Lol hey I'm Deathstroke's daughter or something
>Then I get deds
>Wtf is going on? Oh shit Olicity is confirmed for real?
>Show slowly dies
>Thanks Glau

Mad Men. Went from a solid 8/10 at the end of season 3 to a weak 5/10 once season 4 started. Made it difficult to continue.

Yeah Weiner wanted his RL son to fuck every Draper woman really was a low point. Oh and making Peggy the next Don Draper when Pete had been fighting for that since episode one also sucked. You can tell he gave up after a few major deaths on the show too.

Buffy.

IT crowd
As it rolled into Season 2 they slapped typical archetypes on each character and they reduced the absurdity and character retardation.
Fun, ridiculous sketches turned into suddenly-normal-woman-bossing-around-antisocial-dudes in a duller, normalized environment.

Leftovers shat the bed season 3
Lost post s2
Got post pilot
I didn't mind the ending it could be taken in different ways but yeah muh stronk Peggy sucked shit writing

>Turns into complete shit suddenly
I can explain this, most of the reason is the creation team got fatigue with the show.

Attached: 1544972580929.gif (480x360, 724K)

it's literally a soap opera. won't end until the comet comes

Black Sails

What the fuck

UTOPIA in the UK. Was convinced it was True Detective tier kino four episodes into S1, then it just kept declining. Heard S2 even worse. Got cancelled. Hottest girls too.

It's literally TD: The Room

Then there's times like the writer's guild strike that lasted from November 5, 2007 to February 12, 2008 where the end result was good writers being fired for striking under obligation to their union and being replaced by no-name hacks that would work for cheaper and weren't part of the writer's guild. People still watched the shows despite the nosedive in quality and suits realized that the average person won't even notice the good writers' absence.

>that webm
youtu.be/MtTBqIAQ434

>People still watched the shows despite the nosedive in quality and suits realized that the average person won't even notice the good writers' absence.
And?

And it led to a general stark decline of overall writing throughout Hollywood, retard.

Since all we are getting are the usual boring suspects, how about shows that stayed consistently good or even got BETTER as time went on with a decent or great ending?
Codename Kids Next Door might be the single best example of a perfect series that never faltered and in fact only ever got better and better. It's very hard to watch as an adult but the pacing is perfect for children.

I think the gay reveal or when they lose the gold really killed the series.

>everything i liked as a kid was good and everything is shit now, fucking kids hurrr

Literally everyone says this about any generation of television, film or music.

House turned into shit after season 4, but the finale salvaged it. I didn't remember (or blocked from memory) how bad the episodes involving CuddyxHouse were until I rewatched all of it last year. It completely loses the plot more than once.

That's not what I said, retard. If you weren't a newfag you would have been around for the numerous threads about shows that fucking sank after switching writers. Most of the shows on then are obscure garbage, same as any other generation.

It's not about childhood vs adulthood or nostalgia, idiot. It's a decline within only a couple of years.

Season 4 was peak kino, then it dropped like a molten shit.

So triggered you had to samefag. Must be true.

Yeah it seems like it should be true for a ton of shows.

"Idiot" is being too kind for a girl-brained shitposting zoomer like you.

battlestar galactica

Heroes was cracking for S.01, but nosedived like a motherfucker when they realised Peter was too OP to carry on. Then they just raped the lore and characters into oblivion.

Oh fuck i forgot all about Heroes. That show went to complete shit

>they'll
All of them.
Except Star Trek TOS.

This show got so much hype going in I knew something was up. I realize ST, SW and Dr. Who were dead at that point but Galactica fans were massive fags about this show. I avoided it and I'm glad I did. When the twists started happening you could see fans collectively lose their shit. In a way I feel pity more for Galactica fans than Firefly fans cause really wasn't fair for the drop off of quality like that.

Come on man TOS had some shit episodes too and S3 had signs of wear and tear.

True Blood

Season 3 but it regained some legs in season 4 then went permanently downhill

Tim Kring is just a retard. People like to blame the writer's strike for killing the show, but Kring never had a longterm plan for any of the storylines, which is why the pretty great season 1 ended in such an anticlimactic wet fart of a finale. Then season 2 came along, which was just completely idiotic from the start, and the show never recovered.

True Detective and The Walking Dead are interesting in that they have one season that's some of the best television ever made and then immediately spiral into garbage after that.

Andromeda was kind of like that as well. It was sort of a post-apocalyptic Star Trek and the first season has some absolutely fantastic episodes and then they fired the head writer and it all went to shit.

Sliders has 2 seasons of pure kino, then one season of dumb fun, then absolute trash.

Someone's going to say Twin Peaks, but season 2 is fine, it just seems bad relative to how amazing the first season is. If TP season 2 existed in isolation it would be remembered as a decent 90s primetime soap.

MY LIFE AFTER MIDDLE SCHOOL

If we're doing cartoons, Clone High was a short, perfect package.

Yeah I couldn't even finish it.

XRA also stopped when it should've stopped. I cant imagine keeping up that writing for 5 seasons or so

Season 2 isn't fine. It's insufferable.

All the MTV 1 season wonders really. Clone High, Downtown, Undergrads, Mission Hill etc.

This. Even the most interesting and well excecuted premise will have a hard time keeping up the momentum. Most shows will start off the best to hook in as many viewers as possible and then steadily drop in quality because people will have already commited themselves to watching it so they can just keep riding the wave.
The much better question is: are there any shows that consistently keep getting better and better?

rick and morty

Only if you count Bushland as the finale

...

jesus, this. season 1 was already pretty shaky but season 2 was just outright awful. I jumped ship after the second episode.

is it just me remembering shit incorrectly or did reality tv blow up during the writer's strike?

Westworld. First season was good, I really liked it.
Mauve should have been left out completely and then season 2 shit the bed.

Seeing as "reality" tv got more scripted I'd doubt it.

But the best episode is in season 4

Falling skies

currently watching supernatural
seasons 1 - 2 were pretty fun
then the power level of everyone involved jumped drastically and the show never recovered, went from two brothers hunting werewolves and spoopy ghosts to "dude we kill angels on the regular also the king of hell is our best bro and we save the world from biblical destruction every season"
very disappointing

Attached: 1554554433539.png (120x120, 11K)

The wendigo episode is still my favourite. If they'd done a wendigo story now they'd just have Robert Carlyle on as a guest. Why must every wendigo movie with an actual monster be shit.

whatever season was after CUNT

The Expanse is getting better as it goes on. Although It's not finished yet.
Bojack Horseman has also got better as it's gone on.

After 4

I'm from Minnesota so I am used to being disappointed by Vikings.

I just finished marathoning this today and there's a noticeable drop off in quality once they leave the ships. I mean yea they had to since that's what really happened, but it became plain silly after that.

agreed.
the first season was kino
the island mystery, oliver turning baddies to pin cushions, based manu...
season two had moments but they started with that retarded 'i won't kill' batman logic and suddenly any retard who wanted to dress up and play hero could do it.
what was the point of the island and olivers journey if a 100 lb female prosecutor can just decide to be a crime fighting badass thats on olivers level?
the season two finale was great but i didn't watch after that.

Season 1 was pure kino (despite some padding issues), but I thought season 2 was really bad. Even the fight choreography, which was great in the first season, felt off and borderline CW-tier.

Attached: dd.jpg (1278x638, 174K)

This got posted on Yea Forums yesterday and all people did was post pics and talk about their cats
Yea Forums is such a shit board

>that plummet off a fucking cliff with season 4
Pretty crazy when you consider this show is 20 years or so old and only the first 3 seasons were good.

Attached: spongeboob.jpg (1280x720, 97K)

I think it's been lacking since belter navy and the ring.

every single animated show

I feel like farscape got better and better as it went on.

Prison Break (after Season 1 it sucks)
Lost (don't even remember when it became obvious the show was bad, but the first 3 seasons were kino at least)
Dexter (after the high point of s4's ending, everything that follows is embarrassingly bad)
Game of Thrones (very noticeable dip in quality after Season 6)
Patriot (somewhere in s2)
Twin Peaks (after a certain villain is dealt with in season 2, the show becomes very aimless and boring. The finale is outstanding but the many episodes preceding it are unwatchable. And Season 3 is like a 5/10 at best)
Berserk (anime) after the Golden Age arc - they aren't able to introduce a single worthwhile character (maybe with the sole exception of the Mozgus villain)
Heroes (I believe it started to go to shit in season 2?)
American Horror Story (to be clear, this show was never good. But it became unbearably bad in Season 3 I think? The Coven season with Precious. Tremendous drop in quality for an already-bad show)

really?
season 3 was kino...based ashford and drummer stuff was great

Xavier never had a decline

What happened to GoT after S6?

ran out of books and had to write their own stories

They seriously dropped the fucking ball on season 3

Attached: the-good-place.jpg (400x300, 59K)

Breaking bad

Not only was he killed by some geeky weirdo it was literally for no reason just have a shocking death

Peppermint actually makes their vulvas dialate causing extreme arousal.

source: cat owner and lover

The Strain

Or Reverend Cloutier who literally seems to become an angel or some shit. Or the aging pills (how do you even come up with something like that?), or Said's killer who got depressed when Said supposedly told him everything is worthless because the universe is gonna end some day (was this before Said became a muslim? Pretty sure ideas like the Heat death of the universe are frowned upon in organized religion). Or when Keller literally smuggled in Anthrax, somehow.
It became a fucking parody of itself.

Try watching season 5. It's a return to form after the horrible season 3 and the shitshow that was season 4 (or watch it, it's a great comedy with hackers literally bleeding because of too much hacking). I didn't continue after the end of season 5 because the ending was great and continuing would ruin it for me

nip/tuck

black mirror,
afro samurai

All of them except Rome. Rome was pure and unadulterated plebian kino through and through

>implying season 9 isn't kino and the show isn't back to being pretty good again
It's so obvious when people don't watch a show

Attached: 1494468552627.jpg (298x169, 8K)

Sopranos also remained kino

>Prison Break
>Heroes
man these shows were fucking fantastic in their first season and went to shit basically immediately afterwards

Prison Break Season 2 was still watchable at least but holy fuck Heroes dropped the ball real fucking hard

Also GoT's quality drop started hard in Season 2 and 3 (Robb breaking his marriage vows and GETTING MARRIED UNDER THE SEVEN for no reason being the biggest offender) but it didn't become truly bad until season 6

i thought the season two finale was great but i could see that they were going to use the success of the show as a platform to launch all their other cw tier shit superhero shows.
what drew me to the show in the first place was that oliver was the arrow in a realistic world that didn't have super heros
but ever since it seems to have turned into total schlock.

Misfits. First two season were unbelievably good, then the last episode of the second season fucking ruined everything.

why is this stupid post so funny

>Last Man on Earth
>its not about every man except the protagonist dying off and the women of the world turning to tribalism and fighting over his jizz
I was ever so disappointed.

Lost late season 4 it became clear the show was on a downwards trajectory (although in hindsight this was apparent in S3). S5 was a complete shitshow and S6 was just meh, it was accepted at that stage the show would go nowhere

wait...so thats not what its about?
that idea sounds genuinely funny, so i guess i'm not surprised.

Season 5 is also great. Skip 3 and 4 because those are garbage. It returned to its street level hero roots. It also helps that the villain is not a supernatural entity, but just a very skilled and smart man who actually plans shit and not just be a dumbass. It also helps that his motivations tie directly to Oliver's actions in Season 1.

The Venture Bros went from watchable to kino over it's run.

Attached: 1452705525828.png (1280x388, 661K)

>when your show became so objectively terrible after three seasons of lightning in a bottle that fucking wikipedia has a subsection called 'declining quality'

Attached: 1slZNKmL5ofpUn-cfHm3ExZK9yBRD3uVoFZQcrYvVNY.jpg (800x548, 75K)

Same with the Simpsons

What a fucking pleb. TD S3 is the best.

it was three episodes worth of mystery that gets spelled out for the audience at the end stretched out over an entire season using dementia and marital strife as filler. It was shit.

This show is 10/kino
i don't know why i've never seen it discussed on Yea Forums

minor example, but Bones Season 5.
>have two well-defined and interesting characters with a contrasting personality and interesting banter
>one has a brain tumor for a single episode
>personality changes in just the right way for them to end up together
oh come on!

didn't J.K.Martin help? Like basically write the script?

Wait, THAT'S how they ended the will-they-or-won't-they bullshit between Bones and what's-his-name? A fucking brain tumour?

>look everyone, it's David Bowie!
>lmao pedophiles
>lmao homosexuals
when it's good, it's really good, but it hits real rocky parts. Also Sgt Hatred is such a shitty character, he's like a 2-second visual gag that has never stopped.

Dirk Gently
Fortitude- It would have been fine to end it with just one season.

i guess we just disagree because i think hatred is funny
the creators are big bowie fans and i didn't think it was that bad...i give them that because the rest of the show is great.
the faggots are funny too, shore leave is a fun over the top homo
