Mid tier stars like Pierce do get forgotten by the general public pretty quick. If he had not gotten traded to the nets and stayed with the Celtics his whole career instead of bouncing around his last few years he would probably be better remembered though.

Oh, let's not forget that they wanted to do a tribute for Isaiah Thomas on the same night as Pierce's jersey retirement, after IT already declined it the first visit because he wanted family to be there.
