If there was one show that got a remake I wish it would be this one. The core of it is fucking incredible but the effects are some of the worst I've ever seen and a lot of the dialogue/acting is truly painful to endure.

Hold on till season 2, the cast grows into their roles better, the main guy gets replaced, and in season 3 the cgi effects are taken over by a different company

Season 1 is only something you appreciate after you watch the whole series. It IS poorly acted and it does have shitty effects. Both get much better as the show goes on.

I promise you, nothing has rivaled the storytelling since.

Also, if you can, find a way to watch it not on Amazon. They really fucked with the cgi scenes.

That wasn't amazon's doing, that's how the dvd releases handled it, zooming in the CGI shots to fill the widescreen image.

Amos is book Amos for me now. It's perfect, if not appearance-wise.

Not a pleb opinion. They are the best actors on the show, by far.

i had my own book-amos pictured in my head, but in the most recent book i couldn't picture amos as anyone other than wes. he's just too good as amos.
i actually like show miller more than book miller. book miller was kind of dry.

He always did, even in the books. He's one of the most well written sociopaths I've come across, and somehow the show manages to nail that while falling flat everywhere else.

there are plenty of other good things in the show. errinwright, miller, ashford, drummer, prax was surprisingly good and much better than the book version, show alex is better than book alex, and there are a lot of good side characters and actors. the main problem is just holden and naomi, they are both fucking awful actors and they have absolutely no on screen chemistry.

I barely made it through season one he is so bad. I read the books first though, so my bar was set too high for what they could do with this show.

I'm the same. Holden combined with the just plain lazy sets and the constant blue tint to everything turned me completely off the show.
I stopped at the hotel shootout because it was so fucking bad.

Yeah, the blue tint drove me up the fucking wall. And how everything is so god damn clean drives me nuts. It's 2019 and it looks like a highschool drama club built the sets.

Yeah, but at least his struggle with always wanting to do the "right thing" came through. In the show he just comes off as a inflated basedboy.

In general, the show is just completely missing the grit and struggle of the book.
