Boredom and disappointment and the hilarious realization Lawrence is actually a ponce.
A severe lack in actual sexual action despite the whole film being scene after scene of homo flirting and teasing.
The desert looks nice. Peter O'Toole was a handsome motherfucker. Not much else.
This but unironically. The whole film is homosexual subtext. Two arab bum punchers beg a Brit for a cigarette (fag in british parlance) to suck on, and when he tricks them they immediately shove a phallus up a camels ass before offering themselves to lawrence as "servants".
greatest kino of all time
a film that turns boys into men
pure art of the highest order
so much style it becomes the substance.
holy sheeeeeit 4:20 music montage to begin the film with a black screen
KINO
Arguably the best historical epic adaptation of western history so far, but also and .
One of the greatest films of all time
Anyone who says it's boring or "nothing happens" is just a zoomer who couldn't sit through a 10 minute youtube video
It's actually incredible how the filmmakers got it past the censors back in the day.
Those "in the know" knew fucking immediately all the homosexual symbols and metaphors.
We're talking about the sort of gay-coding that the majority of straight audience would simply interpret as completely "harmless" to their sexuality. Think Behind The Screen, think The Soldier, think Our Betters, think Myrt and Marge,
An actual movie and not corporate capeshit
>you're a big guy
everything about the filming of that movie is fucking insane
>scenes shot with 1000+ irl bedouin warriors
>o'toole going off and getting absolutely shitfaced constantly
>having to spend all day having an army of people smoothing out the sand for a reshoot
this is kino beyond kino
>ywn have Peter O'Toole give you a footjob at the officers club after one of his trysts in the Arabian wild
Why live?
Being a river to your people.
So this is what Nolan was referencing?
Interesting. Does that imply that Bane is actually homosexual?
Based zoomer getting the first post
>HOW 'BOUT ALIVE?
Nolan must love Freddie Young as a DP

maybe the most beautiful film ever made, with one of the most beautiful humans ever made
lots of homo tension, no female characters
3+ hour long treatise on why Arabs will always remain a silly little barbarous people
>no female characters
really?! I'm in!
Keep in mind the actual Lawrence found his time being sexually abused in the Arab prison highly stimulating.
A very long and boring film
howd he get so pretty
Is it possible for movies today to look like this? It has so much presence. The colors, the depth, it's just absolutely fucking BALLER.
I wonder if you'd need to shot with that particular film stock in 70mm or if it could it be replicated with digital and the right kind of color grading.
I fucking loved this shot. Watching this whole long take of the camel approaching was great.
no wonder David from Prometheus liked it
>Is it possible for movies today to look like this? It has so much presence. The colors, the depth, it's just absolutely fucking BALLER
All memes aside I genuinely believe BR2049 is the closest we've had to this recently
Kino
Please note, there are no quips, car chases, or fights every 5 minutes
It requires you sit still and be patient
it is just fucking insane that they actually shot all of this. this shit would all be 100% cgi'ed nowadays. we will never have something like this made ever again.
>I wonder if you'd need to shot with that particular film stock in 70mm or if it could it be replicated with digital and the right kind of color grading.
Technicolor utilized actual pigments which helps to make older films look like oil paintings. You're actually looking at various cadmium yellows and viridians and cobalt blues, aren't you? Currently it must be impossible but perhaps Pixar or one of the other animation studios could innovate by developing tech that could match pigments with in-camera colours.
Filmmakers should have the option of using the palette range of great artists.
Ali is the best character
even if they did shoot it today they put a shitty filter over it and paint over it with trash cgi.
HE CRASHES HIS MOTORCYCLE AND DIES
there you don't have to waste 3.5 hours watching this anymore
zoomers unironically have this mentality
>waste 3.5 hour
it's literally the opening scene
I know you're just shitposting but at least put some effort into it
O'Toole seems to be on the verge of mentioning Corneille and The Oath of The Horatii. The three men avenging their father also comes into play with this painting.
>The pathos and painterly skill of Andromache Mourning Hector brought him election to the Académie Royale in 1784; and that same year, accompanied this time by his wife and studio assistants, he returned to Rome with a commission to complete a painting that appears to have been originally inspired by a Paris performance of Pierre Corneille’s Horace. The result, finally not based on any of the incidents in the play, was the Oath of the Horatii. The subject is the solemn moment, charged with stoicism and simple courage, when the three Horatii brothers face their father and offer their lives to assure victory for Rome in the war with Alba
Kino. Ignore the shitters that are saying it's long and boring. They probably enjoy capeshit and flicks that require an IQ of less than 30 to enjoy it.
I too enjoy watching a actor with two penis euphemisms for a name prance and frolic about on top of a train waving his silky garments at a sea of men who flutter a rainbow of coloured banners back at him whilst he preens about for them.
Don't forget how he almost caused a riot because his drinking pissed off the bedouins (And also because he nearly turned Omar Sharif into a drunk as well)
a palate clenser from all this capeshit back film made you feel
>posting while watching the film
retarded
absolutely based alcoholic O'Toole
i can't guarantee i'm gonna finish this tonight as i'm getting pretty drunk and i've been doing some work and stuff in between while having it paused a lot, but I love it and I am enjoying every moment of it.
yes that's exactly how I'm feeling. this is making me remember what it's like to watch a real movie
>not maximizing your enjoyment of a classic film by shitposting with your Yea Forums bros about it as you absorb it
by dispersing your focus, you're not taking much of anything in. try watching a film without having to use technology to guide you
just hit Intermission and I'm pretty wasted. do I keep going or do I continue Friday lads? can't watch tomorrow due to some bullshit responsibilities.
lol, u sound mad breh
just wanted to drop in and say fuck capeshit, cinema is currently dead
>walks into the officer's club wearing full bedu gear giving no fucks
the ultimate alpha
>a actor with two penis euphemisms for a name
lmao
There isn't a single woman in this film
and that's a good thing
Boring slog of a movie
>comfy desert adventure
>homo-erotic subtext
>stop pulling "white men's burden" around because mudslimes literally can't uplift themselves from their own current state even if you try
finished it lads
KINO
Anglo propaganda
wtf i hate Yea Forums now
