There's nothing "of course" about it. In fact it is the very thing that it is not a matter of course for Bane to say what he said. So we may ask why. Why indeed did Bane say something so out of place? Is it because he's a big guy and can get away with it? If you're a big enough guy you can say pretty much anything. However "big" is relative. Then it is only in relation to his interlocutor that we may suggest Bane is a guy. A big buy in relation to whom? Then it is not "to him" but "for him." As in he is big, how big? Big enough for him.
There is really no other reason for Bane to say such a strange thing. Thus the argument has concluded.
