> Fell for the hype
> went to movie theater with friends

Why is this movie appreciated so much? Noone could remember a single character name half a hour later.

>for real in a movie
What ?

Murph's name was literally said in the movie like a hundred times you dumb brainlet

Nolan’s best film and best score. His writing is still terrible and he has an exposition problem but this is his masterpiece.

POWER OF LOVE

No. Inception was far, far superior in every way.

Yes it's one of the most basic rules of astrophysics. It's more or less what A Brief History of Time deals with.

Dicaprio can’t act for shit and brings down the whole film with his over-acting. I’d take Mathew’s blank open-mouthed stare over Leo’s confused screaming face any day.

>Noone could remember a single character name half a hour later.
You should stop smoking weed then.

>not remember names as literal is Murph or Mann
I hate to be the one to break it to you but you and your friends are brainlets

Time is an illusion. Dilation is big gravitational dick.

>Yfw some tard here will be contrarian enough to discredit today's black hole picture

Reminder that the subhumans who post here and on /sci/ literally think they're smarter than Stephen Hawkins. /sci/ is by the far the most embarrassing board, worse than /pol/

> whole movie is based on a scientific theory published literally a hundred years ago
> is just retarded plothole on plothole like catching the drone, main dude being 'lost' and then found by the mission command, etc
> everyone foams its kino.
The movie was a fucking 5 at best. It didn't provide any new ideas of its own, its just one big circlejerk of people who apparently somehow managed to avoid every single space documentary produced in their life.

no, in order to get that amount of time dilation you'd need to be so close to the event horizon you'd 100% be dead.

you couldn't have a habitable planet orbiting at that distance, and the amount of time dilation wouldn't be dependent on whether you were on the surface of the planet or orbiting around it.

do you want sci-fi to be scientifically accurate and only based on reality?

here's your kino, bro

the movie starts out pretty good with somewhat believable scifi but then they go to retard town with LOVE IS DA 4TH DIMENSION

That's exactly my point, they didn't have any interesting concepts from reality that haven't been played to death, and they didn't have any original sci-fi ideas. It just a generic space movie with shitlaods of cash and hype that everyone loves but cant explain why.

Did the vests work?

These cool robots tough.

They lived to get arrested so yes.

They rendered a realistic looking black hole what are you on about? Are you Canadian?

Sci is for fags but Steven Hawking was genuinely worthless as fuck. Overrated celebrity who's only claim to fame was being crippled. His big contribution was Hawking radiation which is just theorizing that black holes give off radiation. Before he died he stated that 'no black holes exist' and backtracked his only actual contribution to science which wasn't even a huge contribution

awesome!

>Noone could remember a single character name half a hour later.

You need to give CASE & TARS more credit.

> They rendered a realistic looking black hole
> people who apparently somehow managed to avoid every single space documentary produced in their life
like clockwork
> Are you Canadian?
no

All I remember from this film is

>DUDE WHAT IF LOVE WAS THE ANSWER

What a waste of a great premise

ffs forgot about the ending, sorry for the pun.

Time dilation is/would be a thing, but Interstellar exaggerated it.

Not really. The effect would be that intense that close to a big ass black hole

>was the aging thing for real in Interstellar?
Nah it was just a prank

theoretically yes

Yep, relativity is a bitch.

What the fuck is time dialation?

>I could swing around that neutron star

fuck off to twitter

Sorry guys, Memento is his masterpiece

Memento > Interstellar > TDKR > BB > Inception

Which is sad. As good as Memento is, and it is damn good, it doesn't stick with you as much as it could have. I can't quite figure out why, but I know it has to do with Leonard's ending soliloquy.

This
Interstellar is nice as a documentary
As a movie it's dogshit
It's not even a good documentary
Like, fuck the plot and characters, they ain't worth it, just explain to the viewers what blackholes are and how relative time works
The final 2001-inspired scenes were cool and visually but came out as dishonest
Forgettable as a film but the science team really made a lot of effort

Shit, I forgot about Dunkirk
I have to put Dunkirk after Memento and before Interstellar

Dunkirk is a boring movie and historically a joke.

It is but Spitfires are cool
I just want Avro Lancaster kino
When???

I felt like I had a religious experience coming out of this one. Although I'll admit I wasn't such a contrarianfag and still held the ability to enjoy things back then.

Can you believe it I was the biggest contrarian fag and Yea Forums made me less of a contrarian and able to enjoy films and stuff occasionally?

Too much weed la

Liked Music, cinematography, actors were okay i guess. But my god, the story was so shit. Fucking THE POWER OF LOVE, Jesus Christ, Nolan, god damn Snyder could write better premises than that.
