I'm a conservative but I'm also not a retard who denies climate change. One of the very few things where I'd actually want the government to do something and use my tax money.

I don't have any "excuses". I have yet to see any repeatable studies that show that climate change over the past 100 years is steered by human development, specifically Co2 emissions. Especially given that our percentage contribution to that trace gas is absolutely tiny.

When I was growing up the hype started about the earth falling into an Ice Age. Then there was a spaz attack about a hole in the Ozone layer killing off a huge portion of life due to radiation leaking into the atmosphere. Then there was the whole Y2k freakout.

There will always be someone or some group of people trying to whip you into hysterics over a new calamity that is omni-present and disastrous if you don't buy into their proposals "before it's too late".

I'm still waiting for the field to produce any actual science to prove AGW. It was invalidated 6 years ago after 15 years of predictive models that failed to be predictive. Hence why they changed the name to "Climate Change". Now every weather event can be used to preach to the converted.

The current warming trend over the past 20 years is1/6th of what their models predicted. So the timescale of what they were stating is proportionately much longer than their prior statements on the topic. It's no longer an immediate problem where everyone has to run around like their heads are cutoff because humanity is fucked in 70 years, instead it's an issue over the span of several centuries. Provided of course something else doesn't change in that timeframe. Say a huge volcanic eruption, a long burst of solar flares, generally increased solar activity, anything that could contributed to either increased absorption of Co2, or anything else that would increase yearly cloud cover averages.

If you want an immediate solution: Nuclear Power.
