There are tons of movies about alien "abduction" though.
shit I had sleep paralysis for a bit a couple of years ago. First I had this dream that never ended, same thing happening over and over again. I woke up only being able to move my eyes but I could only see the dark. I was able to make out places in my room like the lightswitch but it was all dark. a bit after I though I saw someone in the hallway in my house who then just left my room and flipped the light switch and then I felt like I was being pushed into my bed. Like I was in the bed itself. Then I woke up in a sweat but my bed sheets were moved a bit. This happened when I wasn't in the right sense of mind which could have been a cause.
sleeping on your back increases the chances of experiencing sleep paralysis significantly. that may also have played a role.
I was on my back when it happened.
>(the worst thing a human can experience)
Dont be such a soft cunt.
Been years since I had my last one. I hope it never happens again.
I don't know how scary a movie about it would be. I had it twice as a child and the terror was just a felling that was there even before I saw anything.
Both times it was while visiting my grandma's and I was sleeping in the guest bed. I work up terrified and not being able to move. Only after a little bit, this little completely black dwarf looking thing crawled up on the bottom of the bed and started crawling up towards me. I squeezed my eyes shut both times until I could move again.
It was scary as fuck for me personally, but I don't think it would be that scary for an audience watching it.
make it VR
The film 'Awake' has kind off to do with sleep paralysis (being conscious during surgery).
It's quite decent, though don't watch the trailer since it reveals a bit too much.
>(the worst thing a human can experience)
doesn't live in a society
It was present in drug form on the first episode of Boss (2011).
It's literally the I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream feeling, you start to wonder how many hours/days it has been and if you are going to die like that. I don't drink anymore because of it.
A while back, I had to live in Brussels for a year for a job. Couldn't sleep due to street noise. Turned on the air con for some white noise, which had the effect of inducing sleep paralysis and horrific reality-bending experiences. Had to do it though, as the choice was between that and no sleep at all.
Come to think about it, I dealt with a lot of shit in that year. It's one thing going on holiday for a week in a country where you don't speak the language. It's quite another to also be leasing an apartment, paying your water bill, and filing tax documents in a language you don't understand. Add a year of sleep paralysis on top of that.
Fuck it. It wasn't even the worst experience of that year. The company I left for the Brussels job had run out of work and money, and had us programmers cold-calling clients and begging for more jobs we could do. It was like being a human battery chicken.
I hate the dreams because I don't know im dreaming until the end so I would often spend a "whole day" in school having a shitty day or getting yelled at by my boss for making a mistake and its not like Im even reliving something, it usually just some shit my mind mad up. Worse when I have hard time telling what did and did not really happen, that is why I always try to dream of castles and fantasy shit
The worst thing to happen to a person is if their family is slowly and brutally murdered in front of them while getting shoot in the kneecaps and with broken bones to they cannot move or do anything.
my bedroom is on the street side and I can't wait to get enough money for sound insulation
why not just wear earplugs? That sounds incredibly over engineered.
only if they love the family. even if you don't love them seeing them raped might still feel like an insult to you so you would be mad. getting hard or getting raped in front of them might be worse. clearly he was being hyperbolic
Be a boring as shit movie for what's basically a dream.
I had sleep paralysis one night three years ago
I didn't know what it was at the time so I called out to Jesus and it went away immediately
Last night I had one of those really unpleasant dreams where the distinction between dream and reality are blurred, like dreaming you're lying in your bed which is what you're actually doing so you're thrown into a loop when you wake up. I remember something going horribly wrong as well, so I eventually got out of bed with this terrible sense of dread over something. It didn't help that what jolted me awake was a mysterious cracking sound, which I'm still not sure was part of the dream or not, but it felt like the dream world shattered and revealed an identical reality behind it.
So yeah, I didn't sleep all that great, I think.
that could be a twist. you could start out in a regular setting, get crazy and then end it with "it was a dream" but it was a dream is such a meme that people will rage and word of mouth will likely ruin the movie unless it has something else going for it
I enjoy occasional nightmares/sleep paralysis. They offer a little excitement in my usually boring, tedious, monotonous existence.
Films similar to but not about sleep paralysis are
Jacob's Ladder
and
Altered States
Super bizarre and they both convey that same feeling of a nightmare/sleep paralysis
>the worst thing a human can experience
No it isn't. It's bad but certainly not the worst. Has this ever actually happened to you?
>the worst thing a human can experience
Look up Kundalini psychosis
Fairly certain that the fate of the soldier from Johnny got his gun is the worst possible thing that can happen to a human being
Sometimes I will wake up in a blind rage and start throwing shit and yelling and when I calm down I have no idea why. What is that?
The Fourth Kind
>I enjoy occasional nightmares/sleep paralysis. They offer a little excitement in my usually boring, tedious, monotonous existence.
same desu
lol
I've said this and I'm going to say this again. I FUCKING LOVE SLEEP PARALYSIS.
I can't explain it, the feeling of being conscious and not being able to move your body is a very exhilarating feeling.
The worst thing a human can experience is having to spend the rest of your life in complete isolation and not being able to do something about it
New age twat. Piss off.
t. someone who has never been kicked in the balls
Why put the quotation marks around abductions? Are you implying that aliens exist and visit us but the abduction part is just bullshit?
>tfw no sleep paralysis demonoid gf
You don't think aliens exist?
I used to get a lot of sleep paralysis as a kid. At least that what I thought it was. It felt like I was under a really heavy blanket that prevented me from moving. I wanted to get it off because I wanted to breathe better but I couldn't. Happened once a week but I don't get those anymore
I've had sleep paralysis a bunch of times, it's horrifying but it's far from the worse thing I've ever experienced.
I had many sleep paralysis experiences.
This is generally true, but the one that happened when I was prone was even worse. You don't even see weird shit, you just KNOW something is there and starts to touch you.
I prefer the salamander-child or the flying devils to that.
my loop was I am getting out of the bed for pee but never actually got to urinate, cycle breaks with I am wetting my bed. it's been 8 months of dry bed sheets and I want to keep things this way.
I have sleep paralysis regularly. It sucks at first, but once you get used to it, it's not so bad. Just lay there, know whats going on, you know you can't move, you can hear stuff around you etc, just ride it out like a bad mushroom trip. The worst is where you have sleep paralysis, and instead of waking up after, you fall back asleep only to wake up with sleep paralysis again. Had that happen to me when I was sick and all I wanted was some water because I was overheated with a dry mouth. That sucked more that being visited by whatever those fucking sleep paralysis demons are.
Yeah but do you see the shadow people?
They're the problem.
>the worst thing a human can experience
if this, in your mind, is the worst thing a human can experience. you are either lying or stupid
>the worst thing a human can experience
That's not true. Stop being dramatic.
>Just reminded me I haven't had sleep paralysis in several years
#metoo
I am That was nasty shit (but this guy is obviously right). But it seems behind my back now.
If i have trouble sleeping during the night then after 3 hours of being awake the sleep after this is usually a lucid dream
what a cute
why are there no films about kidney stones (the worst thing a human can experience)?
Small time shit

>As his course progressed, physicians attempted to induce a coma with the use of sedatives. Nevertheless his brain still failed to shut down completely.
We still have that kino Seinfeld episode.
I have it every other night stop being a pussy and it can be similar to tripping
100% this. Also the old wives tale about not eating late and going to sleep with a full stomach has some truth to it. I suffer from 2-4 instances of sleep paralysis a year. But if I sleep on my back in addition to eating late, I’m fucked. Bumps up the likelihood in my experience.
Meme illness that has never been proven. It's an urban legend. Show me a video, show me proof that this has ever happened to anyone.
you can snap out of it if you alter your breathing. alternate between quick, heavy breaths and slow weak breaths and after like 10 seconds you'll be able to move your limbs
>the worst thing a human can experience
>have sleep paralysis once after a night of heavy drinking
>drink heavier to try to get it again
>think about ways to try to force it 24/7
>think about how awesome life would be perceiving everything at .05x speed
>was never able to trigger it again and even if I manage to fall asleep on my back I wake up face down.
>Yea Forums is so full of pussies that people are actually afraid of sleep paralysis
Why, is everyone, such a goddamn pussy now?
By that logic dreams are just urban legends.
going to bed dehydrated helps induce it too
>(the worst thing a human can experience)
Wut?
>Half wake up the other morning, got sleep paralysis
>Oh shit, better just wait a minute and it will wear off
>It wears off after a minute
I can see it being scary the first time it happens, but you need to grow a pair if it still scares you after that.
I'd fuck her pusy
>Show me a video, show me proof that back pain has ever happened to anyone.
This is (You)
Pretty sure I've had sleep paralysis twice and on both occasions it must've stemmed from me breaking with my usual sleep pattern since I had it when I went to nap in the afternoon.
It's pretty annoying but I'm grateful I had it during the day. No "demon people" or whatever you gullible folks buy into.
What if you had to do a presentation and school but when you got up you pissed and shit and came in your pants
I can think of a few people I’d like to use that on.
That's not sleep paralysis, you just met the Spirit of Gravity.
You are supposed to look at him in the eyes and say "Dwarf! Thou! Or I!".
>breathing
>during sleep paralysis
What freaks people out is you “can’t breathe” because you’re “awake” perceiving reality at a fractional rate. If you’re able to stay calm you can feel the fact you’re very slowly breathing and the fact you are not suffocating.
Holy shit
Look up back pain on YouTube and it has actual doctors discussing it with real medical x-rays and infographics
Look up sleep paralysis and it's all meme creepypastas and videos of people recording literally nothing happening
Dude how can mirrors be real if our eyes aren’t real?
I'd like to have that once, just for the experience. I only had a few really clear, almost lucid dreams which was really cool.
I get sleep paralysis twice a week, after a heavy work out I get sleep paralysis that night like fucking clockwork.
>the worst thing a human can experience
You get used to it.
>fucking pussies get sleep paralysis, paranormal encounters and all kinds of cool shit and they always freak out and hate it
>meanwhile none of this shit ever happens to me
>all these 13 year olds ITT
Woah hella fuckin scary bros! I also heard about this on 9gag!!!1!
same man
It freaks you out the first time it happens, then you google it and it just becomes a boring pain in the arse when it happens.
>the worst thing a human can experience
I don't know being slowly skinned alive sounds worse
i had it once. was sleeping on my back and when I open my eyes there was a vampire looking thing right above me on the ceiling looking at me. I will never forget that fucker's grin. Imagine the joker in its most caricatural iteration. Thankfully I managed to wake up very quick.
Go smoke your weed and continue having your childish bad dreams that are nothing more than undigested beef or a crumb of cheese
We get it, it's not really the worst thing that can happen. Stop trying to sound so tough.
Grow up
hey gee whiz that's a good point & why youre so smart. gee whiz i'll tell you that that method's not going to work for people who aren't used to it, but if you have SP frequently you can better control the limited parts of the body accessible to you in that state (mainly breathing & eye movement) because the panic dies down once you're able to recognize it.
altering your breathing or moving your eyes is just a technique to help you fully wake up. I haven't researched why that is the case, but its a trick I picked up over many instances of waking up in a state of SP
case in point.
Well there would be a lot of jump scares because literally every paralisys starts wuth jump scare
A whole thread about sleep paralysis and no one mentions pi related? Fucking Newfags...
Thanks.
>sleep paralysis
>be me in high school
>a friend of mine come to my place
>tell me about his problem with the sleep
>"dude, you are probably experiencing sleep paralysis go to your doctor"
>he was sure he was cursed by demons no joke
>his family spent a lot of money to get him "decursed" by some holy man from his church
>2019
>still have sleep paralysis
LOL
Google just found 4 for me
I start to believe that all these posters made by one guy
Yeah a lot of indie studios outsource their cover art to the same graphic designers. I work at Family Video and I’ve even noticed the same spooky face on the covers of multiple low budget horror flicks.
>made by one guy
one guy who paid for a selection of wild fonts and now wants to use them all. But he has only bought one bleach bypass filter, so he is limited to that one.
If it looked like pic related, why not just assert dominance and rape it?
>tfw a midget shits on your chest
>easily panicked moron is passive aggressive
I’ve only had it once and I did not freak out. Because I’m not the type of person who would drown a lifeguard who dove in to save me.
Maybe try to include some reality checks in your daily routine to see if you're dreaming. Like using lightswitches (generally won't work in dreams), read clocks (they won't show time) or hold your mouth and nose closed and try to breathe, which you will be able to while dreaming.
Next thing would be lucid dreaming, which is fun.
>(the worst thing a human can experience)?
its really not THAT bad
I used to get these bad but it's very easy to break if you know what it is.
1. sleep on your stomach.
If you're on your stomach you can't see things.
You will feel less vulnerable and you won't get the sensation of a person sitting on your chest or strangling you.
2. Realize you are having sleep paralysis. It's like how in dreams realizing it's a dream ends the dream. Now you are just stuck with the paralysis. Try to wiggle just your thumb or just your toes. As soon as you do that or even try to do that the paralysis will break.
3. Try to ease into sleep.
I noticed that if I was dead tired and just gave into sleep immediately I would suddenly realize I was falling asleep and that would jolt me awake, but because I had already started being induced into it I had the sleep paralysis.
Give yourself time to ease into sleep and you won't risk this happening.
I used to get these every few nights when I was a teenager but now I haven't had them in years.
You can't help feeling immediate dread the first time because you can't move and you panic.
It's like a horror movie where they make up from being drugged or something and they're strapped down as a captive.
When I first had it, I dreamed that a hooded finger was sitting ontop of me and strangling my neck.
The worst part is there is no transition.
You don't "wake up" like from a normal dream, because the dream elements are overlayed over your actual room.
You just suddenly can move your arms and legs and you're covered in sweat.
This is why people used to think it was incubus demons and shit.
After you find out what it is, it's no longer terrifying and often times won't even happen again because you're not afraid of it happening.
There is no ideal in-between stage where you get to have adventures or have a sexy succubus demon give you pleasure like /x/ would suggest.
Just hold your breath and your body will wake up, fucking whining faggots
>hold your breath
>body paralyzes your lungs
>die
great plan
That doesnt happen or anytime anyone had sleep paralysis theyd die, dumb fuck
>never ever had sleep paralysis
Feels goodman, I've had a lot of jumpscare nightmares however
