Eh. I feel the voice acting was better in the original. Scar (originally Jeremy Irons) had a lot of wit and charm. New guy sounds like a C-list Marvel villain who gets killed at the halfway point in the movie.

Not really sure what the point of this remake is. By accident or by skillful design, the original anthropomorphized the animals just enough. They retained the sense of wonder of being a lion / chimp / whatever, whilst having human enough features to convey laughter, anger, sadness, love etc. When you go with super-realistic animals, you lose the human connection. This is not a nature documentary - it's a movie that tells a very human story (actually a sort-of-update of Hamlet.)

That movie has been remade and re-released so many times that just about everyone born in the years 1970 to 2019 has seen it.

Literally and unironically soulless. This did not need to exist and is entirely inferior to the original. At least with the princess movies like Beauty and the Beast there was room for improvement and actual actors on screen. This is just a CG mess with an objectively less talented and iconic cast that will age horribly within 3-5 years unlike the timeless animation and performances of the original.
