You know, most of the culture / music / art you've enjoyed happened under capitalism. Not that it *was* capitalism, but capitalism certainly didn't get in its way. And when such things went sour, it wasn't necessarily purely capitalism that ruined or spent them.

Maybe things aren't so monolithic or totalizing? Maybe there are different capitalisms? Maybe there are various other big factors that get in the mix and shit things up more ? - not just any one of them, but certain combinations? And under certain values, worldviews, cultural turns, etc? There are so many factors.
