It may never reach Game of Thrones legendary status, but it’s easily one of the best sci-fi shows of the decade, and should be spoken of in the same breath as Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek and others. Please watch it.. With Bezos' backing, who knows, maybe we'll get through all the books eventually.

It's good but it will probably never become a popular show. I bet it will stay a cult classic unless they serialize it and pump out seasons.

Is it really fair to declare that when we're only three seasons into a 9 book series? I mean I know TOS had three seasons and Firefly had even less, but they were largely episodic whereas TE is purely serialized.

I tried to watch it, I really did, but all the ugly non whites are just such a fucking turn off, Holden is an insufferable little bitch and I know Miller dies so what's the point in watching this shit?

I dropped it after watching pic related episode. I came on Yea Forums later that day and some deluded user posted that exact episode and was praising it as "a masterpiece" and "the single greatest episode of any television series they had ever seen". It was a fucking joke, nowhere near a masterpiece and anyone that actually thinks this is anything but a guilty pleasure is delusional.

I didn't actually make it to the part he "dies" in the show, I know he had some weird shit going on with the protomolecule in the books but I got to the book with the lesbian catholic woman priest as a pov character and had had enough. This series is trash.

This. There's even MORE ugly non whites in second season. When I got to this episode I cringed so hard I couldn't take it anymore. Fat sheboon acting like some badass commando.

I mean I get the concept, that after hitting space, especially with the limited number of belters a lot of cultures just kind of smash together. But it's just a rough go and seems a little forced, like had they not pushed it constantly things would be fine.

Yeah and I'm fine with that concept, but they can cast attractive mixed people, EVERYONE on this show is physically repulsive. Look at the thing in the middle of OP's pic. How did that thing ever make it past the initial casting call?

The main appeal of this series is that you're supposed to go in expecting complete shit and get then find something average, a little different with nice CG. Giving people high expectations ruins everything about enjoying it.

the CGI is terrible though, it's like a ps2 cutscene. I just went through BSG again and the CGI there is so much better than this garbage and it came out 15 years ago

The CGI in The Expanse are fine, it's just the sets that are poorly made and it doesn't help that they keep using color correction for each location.
That said, I wish they would film their space scenes like BSG, instead of putting the camera everywhere like if it was some shitty Monty Oum production.
