Turns out having 2, 2.5 or 3 years between each season's release tends to drain both hype and enthusiasm for your show.
Especially when your target audience is the people who watch Adult Swim.

I liked it in like 2015, first season was actually decent, but they ran it into the ground pretty fast.
The fanbase being as obnoxious as possible doesn't help either.

Shut up Redditor. Rick and Morty was literally never good and the quality of the show was as much of a problem as its obnoxious fanbase.

I know the one creator got milldly metoo'd but it didn't sound like it was going to matter. then 3 years later they just didn't bother to make their show i dunno

everyone here more or less liked the first season, doofus.
Although I prefer Bojack, which also got stale by S3-S4

I like jerking off to big tits. The bigger the better. 2d, 3d, 4d, it doesn’t matter. I like when they bounce, I like when she bends forward and you can see em hang. I like when she sucks on her own, or gets them sucked on by another chick. Bonus points if they are full of milk. The best part though, is the slow tease and reveal of big titties coming out to play. Nothing better than a nice view of cleavage that gets bigger and bigger as she slowly pulls down on her shirt. Sometimes I dream about being a mountain climber, but instead of climbing a mountain, I’m scaling a huge pair of tits and I make camp at the nipple, because of course I can’t climb the whole thing in one day.

Bojack was never good either. Jesus fucking Christ.

Season 4 is supposed to come out late 2019 with more than 10 episodes

Based

It's the curse of Dan Harmon.

Two, maybe three good seasons, before he exhausts the characters and the premise. At that point, he either stops, hands the show to someone else, or it devolves into self parody and meta.

Do you like any cartoons?

>I mean it was like the biggest thing
It was a reddit and imageboard meme and that doesn't mean much nowadays.

The Simpsons is good, but only Season 11 Episode 5.

It started going downhill right after the pilot. They should’ve kept it at the “Grandpa and Morty have zany sci-fi adventures with raunchy jokes” level, but Dan Harmon just can’t stop projecting his Gen-X moody drama into everything, so by Season 2 it was poor man’s Venture Bros, and by Season 3 it became “Sci-Fi Bojack Horseman”. It barely constitutes having “… and Morty” in the title anymore.

Also this

if you like either of these shows even a little big you are a baby, a redditor, a liberal male feminist and a sad fag.

But back to the question of the OP. its not why is it bad or why did it become bad (with the implicit crying homosexual fedora premise of that) but
why did they stop when they were on top
i never head of americans doing that

*even a little
i dont know why i wrote little big. i have brain damage morty

Is Rick and Morty an edgy Back to the Future fanfic for hipsters?

Marty = Morty, basically the same name.
Doc Brown looks like Rick.
Premise is also basically the same.

>everyone here more or less liked the first season, doofus.

They did until Reddit started vocally enjoying it.

You gotta lick my balls.

>It's the curse of Dan Harmon
Remember that embarrassing interview when Roiland let it slip that he was developing another show on the side, and Harmon was genuinely surprised like "wow why didn't you bring this to me"? He was a good friend.

And then the season ended....

The sauce scandal killed it's high iq reputation.

This.

Rick & Morty was legitimately good at many points, but it was never good enough to justify only 10 episodes, 20 minutes long each in the span of two and a half years.
And that was when the show was at its best. By Season Three, when a third of the episodes range from mediocre to outright bad, it's even less worth the waiting.

fuck Dan Harmon

A fascinating revelation

youtu.be/aG98bdBbMME

im trying to look up what the fat depressed goblin who makes this is doing now. sounds like he had a slimy little podcast which stopped(?) in january 2019
i'll be pretty disappointed if he never kills himself

>DUDE DID ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THAT RICK & MORTY IS KINDA' SIMILAR TO BACK TO THE FUTURE BUT IN A FUNNY WAY????

You may be a legitimate brainlet. The average viewer understood this after the first five minutes of the first episode.
A lot of people understood it just from seeing the ads and the short clips of it that could be seen in commercials.
And you're just now getting this when the show premiered a solid five years ago.

>Dan Harmon just can’t stop projecting his Gen-X moody drama into everything

I've never seen anything else from Dan Harmon but I think you're right about how much that forced sense of pathos ruined everything. Every character is now both pathetic and annoying.

can we just put this myth that it was good or that people liked it to bed once and for all. We need to dispel with this fiction that there was more than one laugh in the show. I laughed when the doc said "of course they're robots morty,.. they're beurocrats" because it spoke to my contempt for my successful normie bureaucrat friends.
Other than that the first burp in the first episdoe was like 'ha oh that's gross lol he's gross'. Of course the second one was met with oh god are they going to just keep doing it.
That's the peak of the show there's zero laughs in the second or any other episdoes

>It's the curse of Dan Harmon.

This.

Didn't he openly and vocally replace a lot of the writing staff with women during the development of Season 3 for no other reason than "DIVERSITY" and "IT'S 2019!"?

Rick and Morty was basically the go to stoner cartoon in it's first season - colorful and some crude jokes.
The shows quality dropped overall after the first season and the fans basically made you ashamed to put it on even if you were high as fuck.
Then it just ended and nobody that didn't snort mcdonalds sauce to prove his high IQ was sad about it.

Based chounyuu poster.

And Adult Swim renewed it for 70 more episodes. It will be at least 2035 before that gets finished.

The IQ in that room is about the explode.
youtube.com/watch?v=w4SKo5jU64I

Rick & Morty is the Death Grips of cartoons

thats the point if they got renewed why aren't they making it? do they think they can just wait 5 years and their dicksuckers will still be 15 year olds who want to eat their shit up

>can we just put this myth that it was good or that people liked it to bed once and for all. We need to dispel with this fiction that there was more than one laugh in the show.

While individuals' varied opinions on the show is valid, 99% of Yea Forums's criticism of Rick & Morty tends to come from:
1. It being popular
2. It being popular on Reddit
3. A portion of its fan-base being insufferable

The show did legitimately well in emulating the same kind of good vibes that the best of Futurama gave off at its peak: A comedic parody of science-fiction written by people who legitimately liked science-fiction. This was frequently combined with legitimately funny word-play and fast-paced delivery done by talented voice-actors. The show also did some surprising inventive stuff with its presentation and narrative; Things like the episode where the screen is divided into Quantum Parallel realities, or the concept of an inter-dimensional day-care for Jerrys that the various parallel Ricks and Mortys use to dump a side-character at when they're off having adventures was a legitimate example of fun and out-of-the-box thinking that television shows need more of.

There's also the fact that this was one of the only shows on Adult Swim in a long time to follow a logical Point A to Point B progression of narrative, rather than just being random shit that never committed to a story or the writers didn't have to invest in and was only watched by stoners. It's a lot harder to write a narrative like Rick & Morty than it is to churn out episodes of 12 Ounce Mouse or Xavier: Renegade Angel.

People have varying opinions on the show but my opinion hasn't changed since I watched the first season, regardless of who the show is popular with or how much: The show has/had legitimate good points and was highly entertaining, especially if you like piss-takes on science-fiction.

This

i believe you weren't on for last april fool's
I TURNED MYSELF INTO A PICKLE

Actually, I thought it was a BTTF cartoon when it first came out.

user that was two years ago..

Criminally under rated, anti thetical to modern media yet copied stylistically by everyone who came after, because is spoke a very raw truth?

That's a lot of credit for Dick and Shorty.

>American """"""""humor""""""""""
>worse than the Simpson and all the other trash

You do the math.

I still see normies wearing Rick & Morty shirts every week. Go outside dude.

Season 4 is coming and the pickle rick chick quit: variety.com/2019/tv/news/rick-morty-writer-jessica-gao-lands-comedy-pilot-order-at-abc-1203137000/

>It's a lot harder to write a narrative like Rick & Morty than it is to churn out episodes of Xavier: Renegade Angel.
this post is some effortful bait

yes, that's my point.

Rick and Morty’s one of the only shows which is actually interesting and isn’t afraid to do stupid bullshit like killing off the main characters and having mad inter-dimensional Rick fortresses and stuff. Call me a brainlet, but I like that it just takes my autism seriously and actually does stuff unconventionally.

based and redpilled

jessica Gao moved on.
Roiland has two other shows, Hot Streets and Solar Opposites.
Everyone is abandoning ship. Doubtful season 4 happens, but if it does it will be garbage.

The political inserts are so bad. There was point where they talk about the wage gap.

It was always shit and people finally realised it

>haha people sure loved the Tiny Rick thing
>haha what if we took that to to the extreme? Like what's the dumbest thing we could put in front of his name? Surely the viewers will understand we're making it dumb ironically.
>I'M PICKLE RIIIIIIIIICK!!!
>haha that's brilliant! Let's use that as our only teaser material for months to really hammer in how intentionally stupid it is!

Oh, the ironing.

Pickle Rick was hugely successful with normies though, so you can call it retarded all day but it worked.

The fact I have never wanted to watch this confirms I am a patrician

You have a very loud opinion but you're wrong.

Shitty season 3 happened

I gave in to morbid curiousity and I've never forgiven myself. It was every bit as awful as I expected.

sorry cuck, I'm a pickle ricker 4 lyfe and there's nothing you can do about it
