Watched this recently and couldn't decipher what was going on. Had to read up on it afterwards. Apparently it's supposed to be a satire of Christianity with the Javier Bardem character representing God.
Bravo, Aronofsky. You have unlocked achievement 1/50 - Biblical Symbolism - on your path towards becoming a good filmmaker.

The premise itself isn't that bad but the execution was downright insulting. I blame the Weinstein cock holder more than Aaronofsky. It's rare to see a feature film that forces you to pause within the first five minutes to reel back from the cringe.
