this. I read the book after watching the first season, and I'm watching the second season with my fairly sjw gf, and holy FUCK as I frustrated about all this lack outrage shit.
It's fucking pointless. Makes me want to stop watching. None of the gods in america feel a real connection to any race, that's the whole fucking point, they're all bastardized gods who have lost all meaning.
Anansi is just a warmongering prick in the show hiding behind the idea that he's "Defending his people", when he's just riling up the other non-northern gods to rally behind him.
Ibis doesn't put up with much of his shit, and bilquis is a lusty, emotional female god with mixed feelings about the war. Anansi is just stirring the pot as best he can because he's a cunt.
Shadow doesn't seem to give a fuck either, but the flashbacks to his hoodlum years suggest he's gonna go full king chimp when he gets any level of power.
