Cast it
Blood Meridian
David Duchovny as the Judge.
Just grab a couple of inbreds from the bible belt, throw them in the sun for a couple of days and there you got it. Rinse and repeat for the mexicans and native mexicans. It's not like the book has any dialogue.
You are gonna crucify me but I feel the book is one of the few that would make for a better adaptation in videogames since cynical violence is its leading emotion. Literally just RDR without a plot.
>Literally just RDR without a plot
>It's not like the book has any dialogue
>mumble
>'i dun know' for hundred of pages
>dialogue
>muh dialogue
Leo DiCaprio as the Kid
John Goodman as the Judge
Liam Neeson as Glanton
Rob Schneider as Toadvine
Stanley Tucci as Ex-Priest Tobin
That's my point retards. The adaptation doesn't require """""acting"""""" just people that fit the part, that lack any concern for civilization. Of course the Judge is the exception but no man alive right now can fit the shoes so he has to be CGI or animatronics. Preferably the latter.
Say what you will about Catcher In the Rye. That was all of us at some point. To right it off as slop because Lennon got killed? I'd ,much rather have high school freshman read that than Ethan Frome.
It can't be cast. This isn't A masterwork it is THE masterwork. No film can capture the pure and transcendent literature McCarthy created. It absolutely must be experienced as a read venture otherwise it is untenable.
Me as the little girl that gets raped to death
Kek, if he put on some weight he could look right, I think he's fairly tall for Hollywood. But he couldn't bring out the character properly, he's way to 20th c. wise guy.
ben kingsley for judge
Maybe 15 years ago, they're all too old now
Holden was not fat
>at some point
Nah he was thicc
just animate it ffs
Some things aren't meant to be translated to other mediums
Christina Hendricks as the frontier.
I refuse to believe someone can be this retarded
>Pretentious: The Book
>I Can't Read: The Poster
Go back fifteen or twenty years and I'd say Tom Noonan would be perfect as Judge Holden.
can someone explain the ending? Why did judge dance?
Fucking gay
Can someone explain why Cormac McCarth is so highly acclaimed? I read this and Child of God and it just felt like the literal transcription of a man telling you a story in a drunken stupor
He partially represents the inherent capacity humans have for evil and wanton destruction, therefore a bit of him is ubiquitous in every human and therefore he can never really die.
I see he was dancing because he became immortal. Makes sense but I didn't realize this was a fantasy/scifi story.
is it bad if i had to look up over 5 of those words
Not if English isnt your first language
This is the first Cormack McCarthy book I read and it's made it impossible to enjoy the others as much. Trying to work through No Country for Old Men right now but i've seen the movie too many times.
vincent donofrio as the judge
the judge
Here, the Judge.
imagine getting fucked by the judge
Just use whatever they did to make Xerxes huge in 300 to do The Judge.
Tim Robbins for Judge, unironically.
