i enjoyed the books as a kid. i reread the first one last year and it didn't hold up like some other YA novels do but it wasn't bad. the movie is guaranteed to be garbage. ender's game is a better child prodigy YA novel that's about as filmable, and its movie was terrible.

>The GOAT YA series got derailed because of a shitty on set accident
It could have ended so much better.

they only made one movie user, there is no series. "the skarch" was a non-canon comedy spinoff.

Well that one movie was pretty good. No Mary Sues, no bullshit romance. Just bros looking out for their bros.

What happened on maze runner? It just looked shit to me.

But the only cute girl in #1 was chuck

I actually liked the Percy Jackson series, not really sure what they were thinking with those two movies but the books were pretty great

I remember there was a little cryptographic code on the bottom of every page of the book and the publishers said that any kid who could crack the code and translate it would get a bit part in the Artemis Fowl movie

That was like 15 years ago. I wonder if anyone ever did and if that person will be in the movie.

Wasn't the code literally just wingdings and then they had a translation page at the end of the book? Colfer would have had to put thousands of people in bit parts kek

The Percy Jackson movies were Mortal Kombat tier disgraces. The books sold well and the first movie came out around the time of the 5th book (I think) and they had plenty of material to use for a franchise but they made the shittiest possible adaption in history, and while I really like Daddrio they needed slightly younger actors especially when these fucking 13-14 year olds all look like they’re in their mid-20s.
