ngl I honestly don’t think any movies or tv shows are good. I haven’t “gotten” any of them. They all just seem kind of banal and I miss the point. I’ve watched hundreds of films and ~80 anime and the only ones that made me feel anything like people talk about with film or anime (like emotional impact or something “sticking with you”) were FLCL, NGE and The Big Lebowski which I liked when I was 15 but I don’t like much beyond it being funny to me still. Maybe I’m just autistic but I really don’t get media, be it visual, books or videogames, or even nature. I’ve never experienced an emotional event in nature. I’ve felt peaceful at times and thought something was beautiful but the experiences the romantics write about I’ve never felt. I’ve learned things from books and had eureka moments but never felt an emotional revelation with the depth people talk about sometimes. I’ve cried in Church, however. That’s the only time I’ve ever really “felt” how people talk about when they talk about music or movies or something effecting them.
