Can we all agree that it's impossible to successfully create a live-action representation of the Joker?
How many more decades need to pass with more miserably failed attempts at trying to capture this character? Can directors just leave things be from here on out?
Clearly no one but literal manchildren care about making it as close to the manchild comics at all.
Do you really think Ledger's Joker is trying to be like the actual comic Joker? Or now Phoenix aswell? They all merely use the comics as inspiration source material to build different characters out of them, as any good film does. Direct adaptation are mostly bad, especially if it's a direct adaptation of a literal kiddie comic book.

I've really come to appreciate Cesar and Jack's impressions over the years, they actually feel like comic book characters come to life over edgy grimdark shit.

Fuck your topic OP, I'm looking for some Incelcore to watch, any recommendations frens?
I’m not a DC fan, but comics are a completely different medium to film and the expectation that it should be a 1:1 adaption only makes sense inside the mind of a manchild

If you actually consider this post to be a bait you are what's wrong with Yea Forums. They are not similar to the shitty comics because no one gives a fuck. Joker concept is cool, and people like to do different takes. And that happened also in the comics, Yea Forums virgins.

The joker was based on a live action character so there is hope. just find some dude who has a weird face like this.
I think most of the problem is all these recent versions is that the actors want to put their own personal stamp on the character. Even Ledger has his lip licking and Tom Waits impression trying to make his Joker personalized. Leto was told to make him more like Die Antwoort than Joker. As much as I like Nicholson, he was already getting lazy and just playing himself as the character.
None of them gave a shit about bringing a classic version of the character. Then again, I wonder that about some writers on the books themselves. Tony Daniel pulled that face off shit. Azzarello's graphic novel was just too edgelord for me. I didn't even follow Snyder's later runs and that mechanic Joker stuff.
At least with Timm and company at TAS seemed to try to create a classic Joker for tv and film. Plus Hamill knocked it out of the park.
>Can directors just leave things be from here on out?
Or move on. There are far more interesting characters than a man who does insane things simply because he's insane.

>manchild comics Why do people who defend the shitty movie versions bash the original comics? Sure. There is plenty of garbage, but you're proving yourself an illiterate asshole by refusing to read the good comics. You're the manchild who refuses to read books and just praises the garbage writing of Hollywood trash.
