It's good. It's just a completely different type of movie. It's definately much more jokey and lighthearted than Alita. I appreciate the fact that they don't shy away from the Golden Age of comics narrative in that movie and introduce some truly ridiculous ideas without being ashamed of them. Like the Marvel Family and fucking Mr Mind.
But when Shazam! wants to go dark and heavy it goes there and it works. Like the scenes with Billy and his mother or his fallout with Freddy.
So it all depends on where you stand - I guess I had slightly more fun with Shazam! but this movie is really desperate for you to have fun, so there is that.
