When did superhero films reach their peak?
When did superhero films reach their peak?

Superman '78 is the greatese cape flick, but overall I would say the early to mid 90s. Darkman, Batman Returns, The Rocketeer, The Shadow and The Phantom
It's all been downhill since Spider-Man 2
BvS
Captain America: the winter soldier
Superman 1978 is the only perfect superhero movie
That movie sucked as a superhero film. Not inspiring at all!
It's the only superhero flick I would rank among the greatest films ever made
Maybe Ant-Man and the Wasp is more your speed.
began with Christopher Reeve died with Michael Keaton
This. Everything after was lukewarm at best.
Raimi's Spider-Man 2.
Iron Man 1, Winter Soldier and both GOTG are peak Marvel movies
Also the peak of cinema as a whole
Iron Man 1 and GOTG. They felt fresh and the quips didn't feel forced. Iron Man had the realistic Ten Rings subplot while GOTG opened the cosmic side of marvel more than Thor. Too bad both of those sides barely translated to the other movies of the MCU.
TDKR.
I don't think that has any inspiring scenes either. Are you retarded?
>donner superman
>burton batman
>raimi spiderman
>nolan batman
thats pretty much it. I could go with first iron man movie. Since then they have not made capeshit worth discussing.
>bbbbut this was fun
lot of things are "fun" but they aren't cinema
Anything after has been meaningless.
Sky High (2005)
Spider-Man 2 doesn't hold up. Take of the nostalgia goggles and rewatch it. It's stupid as hell.
Joker might unironically bring back capekino.
Nah, highly doubt it.
One of the worst capeflicks ever made.
>tfw my life is a comedy after this post
Fag
No. It's going to be some DEEP nonsense. Might be good for discussion, but ultimately it isn't marketable and isn't a cape movie.
I can't force myself to believe you're all being serious. It's not as terrible as mouse shills say, but it's still pretty bad.
If you suffer from low t
The Avengers (2012)
>both GotG
overrated shit, both of them. The second one is unironically better
Absolutely terrible movie
Watch the Ultimate Edition instead of the theatrical
Wow a movie based on a fucking comic book is silly, who would've thought
It was supposed to be JL Snyder cut. Now I'd say BvS is where it peaked. We'll see with Joker later in the year.
>put sugar on a shit and it will taste good
pretty retarded way to cope
>capeshit ever reaching a peak
For Disney?
Maybe soon
probably going to agree
Better make sure Captain America and Thor are fucking ripped in a way that most men CANNOT be.
I could hate men as much as I hate women, but men generally know they're lying when they lie.
Women eventually think their lies are the truth. It's fuckin nuts.
This only because of media/post 911/grounded elements. Superhero films are not going to touch the dark elements of society unless it is unrelated to Marvel/Dc known brands.
I believe will end up like Timothy Dalton bond, shunned forgotten but given fanfare when the audience changes.
Captain Marvel was the zenith so far, but it's probably just the beginning. She's the absolute strongest and is gonna dominate
To be fair I wouldn't want to see her in a bathing suit costume either
First Iron Man was pick. Everything after is capeshit.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHSHAH
Suicide Squad
A very good choice. Kino of the highest material.
It will certainly be interested if everyone loves it as it looks like might happen, then moving back to MCU might not cut it because they are akin to transformers movies, purely mindless "entertainment"
Is that the true source of all the hatred? That it might be causing more money and reshoorts after people get over the past decade of kids superhero movies?
This
>interested
>reshoorts
Wtf? Is the typo bot real?
The shadow, The Rocketeer, Dick Tracy
The god trio of early '90s
>When did superhero films reach their peak?
Superman Lives
2008.
We got Iron Man, Hellboy II and The Dark Knight.
In other words, Raimi was done, MCU peaked early, and Christopher Nolan and Guillermo del Toro made a couple of masterpieces.
Occasional decent films since. But those films are unlikely to even be matched, let alone topped.
The only based opinion.
Though I'd include Del Toro's Hellboy.
For sure this
when they started casting nudists like Kirsten and Scarlett
Oh did you like it when Drax started laughing at Quill's sexual attraction towards Gamora? Or maybe when Nebula ate the fruit and then spit it out because it wasn't ripe? I'm guessing Taserface was your favorite character
Remove that fag Miller from the pic and it's good
watch the No Justice fan cut of BvS
absolute best version, no cinematic universe filler, no Doomsday, no Wonder Woman
>April 27, 2019
not yet, but soon
>not yet, but soon
"Spider-Man Far from home" already spoils "Endgame". What's so special about it?
Shut up, retard.
Push
McDonald’s arthouse
>both the actress and person in charge hate comics
>mcucks ignore this fact
Cringe
P E A C H T E A
>watch the movie for a second time goy!
No thanks, I have better things to do with my life than watch capeshit. Especially capeshit I’ve already seen.
You contrarians sure are fucking boring
Also I’m including this in every post I make: FUCK JANNIES
BvS is still being discussed, almost daily too. That's a testament to the films impact.
X-Men 2
Unironically they should show her emerge out of a pool in a scene wearing a black one piece suit and tie a red towel around her waist. But marvel is afraid of any sort of fan service.
Is he wearing a thong?
Thanks for the laugh
>he thought any of the dead heroes were actually dead
Nearly every single hero that “died” had a sequel already in the pipe before A3 even came out
The only thing is spoils is something we knew since the second infinity war came out. Literally the 2nd dusting was BP which made everyone in the theater realize they weren’t gone forever.
But you’re a brainlet who thinks knowing where a story is going before you experience it ruins the experience because you’ve grown up suckling on “le ebin reveal.” Knowing that rosebud is a sled doesn’t ruin Citizen Kane.
That'll change once WB releases the Justice League Sydercut. Prepare for some serious kino boys.
Snyder is the main reason behind the DCEU failure.
>Snyder is the main reason behind the DCEU failure.
You mean Whedon and WB ruined the DCEU.
No, I think that would be Disney. The public would have loved BvS if Disney didn't force them not to.
>Whedon
Snyder was supposed to grace us with his perfect 5-film vision, but Warner bros got cold feet and fucked us.
>No, I think that would be Disney.
Digits don't lie. But as I said it's a combination of Whedon/WB and push from Disney. We were robbed.
This. The best of them all
Unbreakable > Spider-Man 2 > BvS > Spider-Man 1 > Batman Returns > Incredibles > Logan > Dredd > Man of Steel > Spider-Verse
You’re living it. Infinity war was kino and endgame will be even more so, but the mcu and capeshit will die with captain fungus and mcu 2.0
>justice league
>kino
lolno
unless they take a route that basically gimps all their super hero costume and ability
its just more capeshit and will be the true epitome of mcdonalds arthouse
How can you miss Superman I in your ranking?
trips checked, best answer so far
>best answer so far
In your opinion.
That would suggest anyone wants to see her flat ass in a one piece.
2nd gotg is better
It's good but not even in my top 20. The film absolutely peaks when he gets the costume, everything involving Lex has aged fucking terribly, the climax is interesting in theory but has no impact, it's not addressed or built up to in the narrative. The things considered GOAT about it are still GOAT though (Reeve, the score, the incorporation of modern genres to a superhero story) I admit that Superman 78 has a kind of magical aura around it but when you look at it hollistically, I just think there's a bunch of capeshit movies that are more effective.
Superman II as a whole has aged badly, which is a shame because that movie's highs are arguably higher than the first
>still GOAT though (Reeve, the score, the incorporation of modern genres to a superhero story) I admit that Superman 78 has a kind of magical aura around it but when you look at it hollistically, I just think there's a bunch of capeshit movies that are more effective.
All good. I respect your opinion. I pretty much agree with your ranking anyway user.
Fpbp
Spiderman 2
came to post this

man of steel
x-men days of futur past

This. Arguably the most important capemovie ever.
He's not wrong.
>60fps
watchmen
Wrong
these
No. I'm pterry sure they can drag this shit forever. With new generations growing up you can just remake the same movies.
this but unironically
This, Snyder Cut JL when bros
retard spotted
The correct answer, and also for movies in general
Superman vs. The Mole Men
REDPILLED
Spider-man 2
The New, Original Wonder Woman
That was easy. Snyderfags disgust me. The last good capeshit he made was 300.
