There's all kinds of god monsters in anime that do shit far more ridiculous than anything you see in movies. The Anti-Spirals throwing entire galaxies as shurikens and dropkicking Gurren Lagan through several supetgalactic clusters before making an attack that through sheer impact destroys the universe, reduces it to nothing, collapses space to a single point, recreates the big bang and spawns an entire new universe is pretty fucking OP. The gauntlet was trashed after vanishing half of all life, the Anti-Spirals didn't even break a sweat, in fact, most of them were asleep when the fought Gurren Laggan. I'm sure there be other characters who could be Thanos in like, I dunno, one punch, man.

The snap is symbolic. All Thanos has to do is consider a different way to kill Berserker every time Berserker revives. Explode him in one instance, turn him to dust in another, give him a massive brain aneurysm a third time, etc. until Berserker doesn't get back up.
