ITT: Actually funny women
I hated her when I was an offended-around-the-clock liberal but now that I'm older, I gotta admit she was great.
F to the real Queen of Mean
She had more balls than any male comedian today, people respected that, she could say outrageous shit and get away with it, meanwhile his coworkers giuliana rancic and the ozzy osbournes daughter ruined their careers for dumb "insensitive" comments
Laura Dern, in Enlightened, is hilarious.
Goldie Hawn - see her in Foul Play
Thelma Todd held her own with the Marx Bros
Geena Davis - great timing in Earth Girls Are Easy
Terri Garr is usually really amusing
Nancy Allen
Catherine O'Hara
I realize op might be asking for stand up comics but I'm not into any of that shit, but any of the above actresses display great comedic ability in their acting.
Comedic actresses count too. All great picks. Catherine O'Hara is so good in those SCTV sketches.
I think the new age spacecadet, or some related trope, is often a good comedic vehical for actresses, which describes a lot of those roles listed here. Or, like a dippy flake or party girl. Comedic characters are of course not perfect people, they're usually boobs or fools, and this kind of spacecadet persona exemplifed by Hawn or Garr is a good female variation on it. I actually think Anya Taylor-Joy would probably do great in a comedic part like this, playing up her spacey, woo-woo aspects. She'd make a really funny kook.
Catherine O' Hara
Sweet Dee
Julia Louise-Dreyfus
Dawn French& Jennifer Saunders
nice
Yeah. On that note, a lot of the women on early SNL, whose names are escaping me at the moment, were really good.
NGL still have an auntcrush on 80s O'Hara
Heh, she's totally an 'aunt', isn't she?
>early era SNL women
Jan Hooks, the lady who played Its Pat, Elaine from Seinfeld, um....? blanking on the rest
Literally the only funny woman who has ever lived and ever will live.

mary gross was underrated too

kerri kenney from the state and reno 911
Gilda Tadner, Jane Curtin
Parker Posey
I actually think the three actresses from Friends were all perfect with the material given to them. It's not that they'd be funny neccessarily in stand-up, but their chatacterizations were played to great effect. And I agree also with the mentions of Julie Louise Dreyfus, she was perfect in Seinfeld.
Mary Tyler Moore was great in the Dick van Dyke Show
I usually dig Funhaus till they go on their virtue signalling tirades, but by far Elyse actually makes me laugh, and that's rare in general with a comedy.
Funny women actors??? I would say only Dee, because I took the time to remember her character's name, and thats better than I've done for most.
Amy Sedaris
I enjoyed her when she was at GameTrailers doing that show with Ian. When she left, Ian died.
I want to marry Madeline Kahn.
she made me laugh the most in History of the World Part 1
I don't think I've ever seen her in something that I didn't like or laugh at. Samantha Who is straight up wholesome funny. I watch it sometimes when I'm sick or hungover for comfort.
Oh yeah, she's definitely really funny. Another example of the comedic space-cadet / ditz trope.
She is fantastic.
In my opinion joan rivers was the funniest female comic
Joan Rivers was never funny. Not even once, by accident.
You need to fucking die in a fire right now
