Mark was a lot crazier in the early episodes.

I love the small moments of Mark's nazi fandom, like in Wedding (S2 finale) they're all wearing mustaches and his is the Hitler-stache without lingering or referencing, just a small moment.

>british humour

heh, not my cup of tea

youtube.com/watch?v=4srTHFUSFf0

I don't think that happened.

what's the best scene/clip to get my friend into this show?

not zany enough for you, yank?

hate this fucking show, it was ok at the start but why the fuck couldnt mark just have one happy ending?

Because he's Mark. He's his own worst enemy.

I love it and I'm pathetic enough to be genuinely inspired by the fact that Mark, who is literally me, kind of manages to have a proper adult life despite being a sperg

what are some other shows as funny or nearly as funny as the Peep Show

Every time I ask this of normal people I get recommendations like Parks and Rec or The US Office, both I've tried for 1 episode each and both complete zoomertrash

how many naan again?

classic scene
that episode is probably my favorite, was this the one with the nazi drawling?

Inbetweeners is like peep show and its funny

unironically worst chapter of peep show

This and It’s Always Sunny

>muh happy ending

Go be a normie somewhere else

The US office is good for three or four seasons. Parks and rec is trash all the way through

It annoys me that the hippie bullshit music in this scene is from a band i like.

>Black adder.
Why are the british so based?

go watch friends or something jesus

It does make the one time he won when he fucked off that book club dweeb disproportionately cathartic. Same when he stood up to his dad.

Or him trying to hit on the neighbor by talking about Stalingrad

this but absolutely unironically, fuck parks and rec, absolutely reddit bullshit

Yeah
>And then i go and seal the deal by doing something wicked like this cartoon

It wouldve completely ruined the entire thing. I bet you're one of those people who have a strong opinion on the ending of himym.

Four, (You).

Shouldve kept the intro music from S1

This honestly is annoying as hell. I always cringe the intro/end blast on insanely high volumes.

>zero character development, hes the same fucktard throughout the whole thing
dumb brits dont know how to write a story, youd think theydve learned something from Shakespeare

FOUR NAAN JEREMY?

youtube.com/watch?v=feJlRDLX0iQ

First series theme was better.

Its a comedy, you are aware of that, yes?

Mark's the type of person who never would change, because he's too internally impressed with himself and sociopathic.

lol amerimutt you should have just kept the mask on and played it off as being a below average european. You did the comedic equivalent of admitting to having erectile dysfunction

Honestly S1&2 are so much better than anything that came after.
>in b4 dog eating and wedding piss

>Mark then gets Sophie pregnant
Get fucked Jeff

Just saw Gerard in broadchurch

that was funny, i dont know why the show portrayed mark as a loser because jeff was raising his kid, jeff got cucked hard lmao

lose weight

The videos in this thread are making me want to watch this show. Worth it, right? I'm an American, but if it helps Fawlty Towers is my favorite comedy show.

How hard is it to watch if you can't stomach uncomfortable moments?

Actually it's somewhat cathartic. A lot of the humor is basically Mark overthinking things and going to extreme lengths cover up his embarrassing actions but then when another character finally exposes him they basically shrug it off like a normal person would.

Yeah it's pretty good

Inbetweeners probably.

holy shit, I actually laughed at how terribly bad this is.

>Mother
>Sophie
>Fuck!
I want a fucking shirt with that on it.

monty python and all that shit is shit, yes. Also extremely popular in America and not at all similar to things like peep show. What's your point exactly? If you ask an American what their favourite comedy is they'll say some normie shit like the office which is incredibly low-brow, lmao zany humour like what you're describing with characters literally behaving like retards.

I should specify the American version of the office. The UK version, unsurprisingly, is far better and has an amazing insight into human behaviour, unlike the American version where there are scenes with characters literally driving directly into a lake in front of them because the GPS told them to.

What did you guys think of the finale? I think it was perfect for the show. Mark ruins the life of another girl he loves, only this is worse cause it was the one that got away all those seasons ago. Jeremy transcended his usual scumminess by cheating on both members of a couple.
Then it ends with them in the same situation as S1, thinking the same things about each other. Perfect for a show about people who never change, I really hope they dont fuck it up by doing a new season like is rumoured

2:17-2:43 is the longest take I can remember from the whole series and every single second is fucking platinum.

I prefer their sketch show. This shit is just cringecore.

Maybe try Nathan Barley next, yeah?

His little bit at the end is the best part

I'M RED HOT LIKE POL POT

The face he does is the funniest moment in the show

The Mighty Boosh

You're 10 years too late

the writer of this show wrote/created succession on HBO. is that show a meme/boring or is it worth checking out

>Office Uk ends on a sad office party with David getting fired
>Office US ends with a big blowout with a bunch of star guests and a wedding
Whats the matter with Americans? Can they not handle reality?

Curb is at its best when the dude is saying stuff we all think but are able to hold in cause we know its not worth making a big thing out of.
Its at its worst when its basically showing off how rich he is and what a great life he has.
You'll get a bit of both in all episodes so its averages out to a pretty meh show; would've been so much better if it was about a struggling writer with a show that gets middling views, not a millionaire star creator of a smash hit.

Early seasons only though, I'd say watch up to not later than season 8/9. They try to be south park in the newest eps, with a bunch of thinly veiled commentary episodes. Newest season has the best actor only in half of it then disapears up its own ass in the last ep where they, no shit, have an totally 100% serious interpretative dance sequence about one of the characters coming out of the closet.

Back is going to be better than Peep Show, even.
It's got the same style of comedy, Mark and Webb.
But the setting is better.
And I love how it is part comedy, part mystery.

>Brits pronounce things funny
The language *is* called English, mate...

Being Jeremy is suffering

hitler me, jez.

Ever since Back bombed they keep floating around the idea of doing a tenth season

Do yourself a favour and watch Toast of London, but skip the first pilot episode

The Pilot was bad.
But the rest of the series was great.
They are supposed to film this year.
I hope they continue with Back.
I'm really into who Jeremy really is, lol.

are british people really such pussies in real life?

Not even once.

>Michael Ball just loves killing people. He has twice the amount of blood in his body than a normal man

youtube.com/watch?v=bxO_wp0AQqY
literally me

Yes, they fear what they don't understand

Mark is the inner autist in all of us.
The irony is that Mark is actually really normal.
It's Jez that is the weirdo.
But in the universe of the show the premises is that Jez is the normie and Mark is the autist.

Having an unlicensed gun in your possession is very bad. It a felony and it probably means you will spend time.

lol wtf

Thats not the premise at all. The issue is they have normal issues in s1, but because they have zero self control and never learn from their mistakes they become more and more fucked up as the show goes on.
The whole dog incident is a microcosm of their arcs.

>Jeremy runs over his gf and Mark potential new boss' dog
Sucks but this stuff happens
>They decide to bury to in the forest so the day goes smoothly
Well I dunno if Id go through with that but Id definitely be very tempted to
>Grounds too cold to bury it so they try burning it
The thought MIGHT cross my mind but I wouldnt do it
>They get found and hide the burned body in a plastic bag claiming its chicken
Id definitely come clean at this point
>When they get suspicious Jeremy eats the cooked dog in a desperate bid to convince them
Holy fuck.
You see the logic in the journey of how they got there, but you know any normal person wouldve put a stop to these events at one of those stages.

>Thing is banned
>You get in trouble if you have this thing that's banned
Is this really that surprising?

The US is the exception to the rule. In most of the world, carrying any sort of weapon is illegal and an offense in itself.
Plus weapons must be acquired lawfully, registered and of course not all weapons are obtainable.
Plus, if you need to transport a weapon (for hunting or shooting range) it must be unloaded and in a safe carry case.

It always felt to me that Mark is just going along with Jez's crazy adventures.
Jez is like the younger brother who Mark feels obliged to care for and help get out of trouble.

just hide it in your closet whos gonna come looking for it?

The IT crowd

>The miracle of consumer capitalism

Mark gets fucked by capitalism so hard and so often over the course of this series.

>DO A COLUMBO, DO A COLUMBO...
>Good old Columbo...

Why would you risk prison time?
You aren't making much sense.
Plus, if you found a gun on the street it has 100% been used for some crime and dumped.

He actually had way more things fall perfectly into place for him than was realistic with his personality.

Sometimes he's a victim of circumstances but a lot of the time he's completely at fault.

never watched this show, but that's actually really fucking funny
thanks, OP

The OP clip actually seems a bit out of character for Mark.
You'd think Mark would study something more brainy and nerdy than "business studies" lol.
That's what slags study.

Anyone else feel like this character will kill himself within 5 years of his last appearance? He's boisterous and does well when things are going his way but the way he started crying about Sophie makes him seem like one of those guys who can only express emotions in the form of total breakdowns.

Was there ever an NTSC release for DVD? I really want to own the series without having to import a DVD player just for it

Honestly based.

Not to get too political but does anyone find that Peep Show has weirdly Blairite undertones? I guess it's just a product of the time.

>not first person perspective
what's the point?

If you had to cast a US remake who do you think could work in the lead?

How do you figure?
You think a Corbynite would have a higher tolerance to druggies shitting his flat?

Jeff wasn't a bad guy, people only think that cos we empathise with Mark.

First person is really hard to film.
You have to film everything in one cut all the time.
Mark and Webb vowed to never do it again.

I remember Jeremy and Hans making a bunch of references to Blair when talking about their band but I don't think I know enough about Blair to pick up on anything except his name.

.... I AM James Bond

He's on my mind because i was talking about him in a thread yesterday but pic related comes to mind a as a good Mark.

Attached: nathan-fielder-nathanfielder-out-on-the-town-having-the-time-29939708.png (500x522, 95K)

Yeah, but your country suffered a major dialectal shift after the revolution.

Your ancestors pronounced words closer to how the American south does, than the way you do now.

Lol neither of them are normal

I just love the Toast of London universe, there's something so charming about it.

That's because English is a living language and ex pats are notorious for trying to maintain what they know but in a different country and so it never progresses.

>Peep Show has weirdly Blairite undertones
Are you not familiar with David Mitchell?
That rant is just David Mitchell being himself.
His political views are very much like that too.

He wanted to do ancient history but his dad made him do business studies.

I used to show my friends the first episode, then Mark meets Sophie’s parents, then either Mark’s stag party on a boat or the wedding.

I love Nathan but I don't think he can do the anger, can definitely do the awkwardness though.

The irony here is how unwilling he was to tell Sophie the exact same thing about her skipping work and doing drugs

What episode? I'll watch that rather than just the clip.

Wonder Showzen and Ali G Show.

Ep 2 season 1.

The Inbetweeners, depending on what your childhood was like.

I always found Jeff to have a very creepy side to him with the way he focused so much on Mark, like others here have said about taking care of Mark's kid, basically being cuckolded. He seemed to get some twisted joy out of taking Mark's kid from him in one episode I remember. Then there's all the moments where he's playing a game of one-upsmanship with Mark like with the driving, sophie, blocking mark's toilet, that australian girl, probably more but that's what I remember off the top of my head. He seemed to spend a large amount of his time and energy into just trying to make Mark's as miserable as possible. I might be looking a bit too far into it but he seemed pretty obsessed in that way and something seemed a bit off. I think it rings pretty true for his character that he probably would kill himself in 5 years or whatever length of time, no one in the show ever seemed to actually like him at any point really, even Jez only really hung out with him because he thought it made himself more 'cool'

Cheers lad might have already seen that one then

Mark is weird so he deserves it

Shit, they're going to keep making it?

I saw the first few episodes thinking that it got canned, but I bloody loved it.

>The OP clip actually seems a bit out of character for Mark.
>You'd think Mark would study something more brainy and nerdy than "business studies" lol.
>That's what slags study.
Mark's intelligence is all over the place. He didn't know leukemia is a type of cancer.

>mfw I haven't laughed at a single clip in the entire thread

this, and the Moroccan cooking/dinner scenes

I mean, no doubt, neither of those are anywhere near as brilliant as PEEP SHOW, but...

>both I've tried for 1 episode each and both complete zoomertrash

...both have weak (yet short) first seasons. Past that they're actually pretty great for several seasons, until they eventually become bad again. Drop the cynicism and you might actually enjoy them.

xavier renegade angel
wonder showzen

The Thick Of It is funnier in my opinion but it's nothing like Peep Show really

It's hot garbage by S4.

>with rotten teeth

What did he mean by this?

Jeremy Makes It EP2 of S2 is the best place to get people into it, the one with Darryl the racist
it has the most complex plot of any of the episodes and the most going on, as well as being easily accessible
I wouldn't start most people on S1, even though its my favorite because of its roughness and fewer quip-based humor that make it a bit less accessible

this
it also fits with the show a lot better, especially the first three series

Mark's angry outbursts are always entertaining tbqh

>That's... something people say, right?

British "comedy" is much like British appearance. Weird and uncomfortable. They spent too long isolated on their little island.
