What if a town of democrats just doesn't want a large wave of republicans to move in and change their way of life, or vice versa? In 2017, according to the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting system, blacks (mostly males) were arrested for 53% of murders, 54% of robberies, 37% of violent crime, and 29% of property crime. Keep in mind that this demographic is only 13% of the total US population, and with the understanding that most of these crimes are committed by males, it's closer to 6.5%. Are you saying it's irrational for a group of people to want to raise their children away from an environment like that?

Why should towns and neighborhoods not have control over who lives in them? If anyone can just move in, then how can there be a sense of community, political and ideological homogeneity, and common purpose? Any town or neighborhood is at the mercy of anyone who moves in, despite the people living there sometimes investing their entire lives into those communities. What reason is there for someone to invest in a community if a few thousand people can just move in and change it overnight, oftentimes for worse?
