What did Yea Forums think of True Detective Season 3?
True Detective
It was great. Idris Elba had an amazing performance
Personally, felt the ending was not as ominous as we were lead to believe. Definitely a change of pace from the other 2. The 3 timelines stood out the most.
Ending was kind of a let down. Having a random character just explain what happened without the detectives having to do any detecting was boring.
What wild theories did Yea Forums have when it came out?
Mmmforgut wearIwuz
The big build up was Harris and even that was meh. The only other thing was the black detective loosing his marbles.
>8 hours of red herrings and marital drama between some arrogant roastie cunt and some bitchy mopey asshole
It was great
There were also no pretty girls getting half naked as opposed to other 2.
I didnt watch it. Tv is for boomers and people who dont have sex regularly
1>3>2
It got good in the last 3 Episodes, other that that Roland was actually a better character than the main guy.
I don't get the appeal of Marshala Ali
Overall it was a great build up to a meh climax. I don't understand why it was only 8 episodes, I really feel like they could have developed a better ending that felt less rushed otherwise.
I'm gonna say it.
Bad. Nic pizza should have moved to a new project after season 1. He probably got a nice paycheck though but who knows what he will do after s3
Underused character.
it has HIS turn. Next season woman only cast
Extremely boring.
Sure, if they pick better than the godawful ugly you come up with
Dem keedz
thats from season 2.
it was a joke. embarrassingly bad finale, and anyone that claims it was good is an actual retard.
Here we have a callback to season 1. What do they do? Squander it.
1>2>3
1 is a classic and kino all the way through
2 is decent and kino at some points
3 is dogshit unless you consider marital spats the highlight of television
Only one gun fight, came too early.
Was she /blacked/?
this. couldnt have said it better myself.
shame the did not even show it. probably got cut. the son had potential too.
Yeah the son talks to wayne about how he cheated on his wife with her
It was really good until the last episode which was kind of dull. They fucked the pacing up by revealing pretty much everything in the last two episodes, so the last episode was just a guy with dementia not solving what the audience already knew
Banshee was a treasure
Dementia was the real antagonist. In the end even the audience had it
the real dementia was the frens we made along the way.
trash, waste of my time
..and they all lived happily ever after
If he had read his wife's book, he would not wasted so much time.
I still haven't seen the last episode. pizzalatte played it too safe.
they should get the guy that does the hannibal tv show to revive it
Ali did well for what he was given.
dem puhcell keedz
mostly just correctly predicted a lot of the direction. it was kind of a let down (the posting in the livethreads i mean, i enjoyed the season)
You take that back. I refuse to anoint your double-dubs till you do
I would fucking love that
That there was too much to wrap up in so little time ans that the ending would be a let down. Lo and behold i write in the saddest words of tongue and pen Yea Forums was right again.
the season was like true detective light. for kids new to murder mystery. i was seriously hoping the old detectives, specially the dementia one..did something really fucked up bc of the dementia/alcoholism.
the mom just needed money. go fucking figure.
1>3>2
The show when it’s good is about characters and atmosphere. Plot is secondary.
Season 1 fanboys got too much gay love for it to realize that. The plot was not deep at all and neither was the resolution. How is them figuring out the case because of some drawing with geek ears any different then the one in season 3?
Season 2 had a more complex plot but it was a cluster fuck with no atmosphere. It came off like a rejected The Sheild wannabe show
Quite possibly the most boring thing l have ever watched. I can’t believe l wasted 8 hours on this shit.
Tim Riggins was the "complex part"
Whats this from?
SALL I CAN THINK 'BOUT
no idea. first thing i have watched her in was TD, nothing else really
it was ok but the marketing team went overboard with shilling it here so it took away some of the enjoyment for me
thumbnail made me think it was Bunk from The Wire
Best quote:
Roland West: Do you like kids generally?
Brett Woodard: Do I-- What the fuck's the right answer to that?
Wayne Hays: Please explain to me all the hardships and tribulations of bein' a white man in this country.
a joke
with no punchline
how did rollan fight so good for manlet he btfo big bikers
alcohol is a hellauv a drug
I liked the part where he gave a giant middle finger to pizzagate tr*mptards begging for another pedophile ring plotline
It was really good. I liked it a lot. I avoided all discussion of it while it was airing but I assume Yea Forums plebs couldn't understand it or get into it, much like the second season. There's a reason I don't listen to Yea Forums anymore.
pretty funny how they gave up on the forced perspective in the last couple episodes, he is a real little fella
The second season was kind of a mess though.
I mean I didn't hate it but the ending was like a whoopie cushion, it went nowhere.
It gave us the fox
this season was a cover up for s1
;_;
the lead up in season 3 was awesome then they fed us a big shit sandwich of anti-climax and blue balls
maximum kek
nah, it was like the movie papillon, our heroes just got old and comfy
Police combat training counts for a lot. Have you ever seen civilians fight? It's fucking pathetic to trained people. Even a manlett like Roland would beat the shit out of you and me.
Season 2s ending made sense and had some top notch kino (Frank and Velcoros deaths) season 3 had the terrible ending that went nowhere
The scene was a jab at all the SJW feminist """""journos"""" seeing race issues everywhere, wanting to bait Purple into their social issues, something he doesn't understand because he's old school and people didn't see the "white ppl = bad" boogeyman everywhere.
teach me alcohol police combat training i wont get bullied?
casper knew this.
their deaths were rushed and we didn't care
season 3 everying was building naturally to the end, we had several episodes of dementia and the guy in the car had been hanging around since the beginning
I mean it wasn't perfect but it felt much more coherent to me
will nails fugg ani and jordan
Please no. Women can't simulate the grim sense of duty the detectives are known for. or the bring across the gravity of their motivations the same way male actors easily can.
I watched the first two episodes. I couldn't understand 70% of what detective mush mouth said so I dropped it.
i thought it was the opposite. he did not want to give the journalist a reason to keep digging
The problem with season 3 wasn't that it was a bad story. It was actually a good story, but this being True Detective, people (me included) expected something way more horrifying, fucked up and possibly occult going on. Doesn't help that the main characters in the end themselves didn't even get closure, so it wasn't even a satisfying ending on an emotional level.
Pair up Ann Dowd(the leftovers) with Margo Martindale
I thought that Purple gets captured and tortured (possibly white torture) somewhere inbetween the 90s and 2000s that fucks him up badly for the rest of the life, but he couldn't tell his family otherwise they'd be coming for them too or something.
I also thought that the sudden flashbacks or the spectre of his wife talking to him would amount to something slightly supernatural (though not 100% confirming it, kinda like Rust's illusions and visions) but nah. He's just got alzheimers and that's it. Meh.
Those actresses certainly have "gravity", alright...
trips of truth
only serious actresses i can think of that could cuss, kill, and be in a ominous setting without it feeling too forced.
are u having a stroke?
S1 is kinography from start to finish 9.5/10
S2 was 6/10 CSI-tier trash, but was at least entertaining and unintentionally funny
S3 failed at being kino and failed at being entertaining, 2/10 because Roland had a few good scenes
i have a feeling s3 was less reliant on the time jumps when it was written, maybe more characters got more screen time but then it became the focal point. hence 8 episodes.
I think Stephen Dorff should get an assload more work, that’s what I think.
Season 3 felt very PG-13 overall
purple waifu had see through shirt tiddies
compared to Daddario and Adams, pretty tame
I still don't get the ending, was it some Jacob's Ladder shit and he was still in Vietnam the whole time?
>that drugged up party scene.
just like other times in the season, his dementia throws him back/mind traps him in his own past and he doesn't even realize it
it was all a dream. he never left vietnam
finna talmbout... dem keedz rollan... salacan thinkabout...
Did she ever find a big enough cock?
it was a metaphor for big government
A role of a lifetime
>season 2 fags will defend this
I mean season 2 was good if you only had big cocks on your mind, I guess.
In a way, not over sexualizing the black wife is pretty racist. All equality, across all spectrums. Like when they are about to have sex and she closes the door.
