While I somewhat agree with you, I'd say these elements were a lot less prevalent in the earlier seasons. Al back then was more "Archie Bunker-lite". He actually seemed to have the most common sense in the first few seasons with the world around him being the shithole that only he could see. The joke used to be "Al is a massive asshole because his life sucks" but towards the end it became "Al's life sucks because he's a massive asshole". I'm definitely not suggesting that makes the show "BASED and redpilled" but I still quite enjoy it for what it was.
