Thinking back, there are plenty of things I forgot to mention like the brides arguing about moving on after the pregnant one, Splendid, fell from the truck and died. The dark haired bride (hispanic or muslim) wants to go back to the patriarchy but the white ones explain to her that they must be strong and go on without men.

It's a modern action movie with plenty of practical effects, but it's not a Mad Max movie since he's just a side character. It's a feminism action movie with the Mad Max name to get more people in seats, specifically men who need to be taught the glory of feminism and self-sacrifice to push feminist goals. In the beginning of the movie, Max was used as an unwilling blood bag for Nux. Towards the end, he willingly becomes a blood bag for Furiosa to keep her alive.

This scene highlights what is either wrong or genius about this film.

Note it has the only implied reference of sex in the entire film and only possible criticism of Joe.
That is the women are wearing chastity belts but why would women in a post apocalyptic lawless wasteland be wearing chastity belts? To stop them getting raped.
As we can see the women chose to flee the safety and cushy lifestyle they had in favour of essentially making themselves big fat targets.
Men don't get this choice in this world unless they choose to fight for it like Max and Immortan Joe.

The original film script wasn't supposed to be that way, it was actually supposed to be an old old max returning to civilization in the hardest of ways by falling in love with furiosa. See in Mad Max 1, Max lost his wife and child which was the last straw that made him break. He already lost the society, and then he lost his friend. But he thought he could run away with his wife only to find out he couldn't.
In Fury Road he was supposed to come to terms that this would be his un Maddening. He had already made more friends and found societies in 2 and 3 respectively, but he hadn't found a cure for the heartbreak.

But of course they changed the ending and thus the whole meaning due to some fucking bullshit, plus they didn't have old as fuck Mel and some old bitch for his wife, like the original script stated

Remember, even in the beginning of 1 Max was always a badass. He just also had something to fight for.

In the film the three settlements are part of Joe's empire and are literally the start of a civilisation.
The empire in the movie is peacefully conducting trade and giving people occupatins other than fighting.
As a criticism of a capitalist and military complex it falls flat.
The settlements are not conducting war against each other and are increasing peace in the region.
Maybe if there was another power equal to Joe's empore but nothing is shown in the film.
In fact Joe's empire is the most powerful faction in the wasteland and thus protects people from bandits and barbarians. Its like the concept of pax romana. His empire is at peace within its borders.
