Not gonna lie, it didn't impress. The free pilot is out and I'm sure I missed the discussion period for it, but whatever. Here's what I think they did wrong/failed to generate hype:
>1 hour pilot I understand that most likely the format would switch to 30 minute if they get the greenlight, but so far the 1 hour run time seemed to only hurt the story. Samir (the protagonist) is way to slow on the realization he fucked up. Cue another 40 minutes of him fucking around, to only realize the moral of the story 5 minutes before it ends, with an arguably weak ending at that. >story Twilight zone has had a numerous history of episodes dealing with supernatural powers and the abuse of said power. I'm talking things as simple as the God-Kid story, the playwright, and more. I'm not trying to say that this story can't be done well, or even refreshed, but for the pilot it wasn't an exciting mystery, say like the doppelganger stealing your life, or the couple lost in a giants playground, which can keep the audience (me) invested. >dialogue I understand its important to highlight Samir as a crappy comedian, but again the way he talks when off the stage doesn't lead me to believe he even has charisma. The most subjective of opinions here.
That's all I got. Feel free to ignore thread because memes. Here's link to pilot: youtu.be/19GO8-Rrn0g
I’ve seen othe shows hosted by black dudes so I don’t feel the urge to watch this one
Cameron Jackson
>I understand that most likely the format would switch to 30 minute if they get the greenlight You realize there’s already more than one episode out, right?
Easton Evans
>other shows Well my nubian friend, tell me whats really on your mind.
Sebastian Foster
No I didn't. I've kept myself in the dark about this to keep hype down. But now I feel stupid(er).
Jaxon Hughes
>what’s really on your mind
Plowing your mom
Matthew Lee
Jokes on you, I'm a cabbage.
Carson Young
The show's been way too predictable so far, but that'd be tolerable if the leads had some charisma or wit to them, like you said. So far it's been just a string of uninteresting things happening. Even Peele's opening speeches are just uninspired babble. Bland. Just bland.
Liam Gonzalez
I didn't want to pay for the extra service user, what else do you think about the show? Any particular stinkers? Regrets for paying?
Jacob Perry
Do you have a butthole?
Ethan Ramirez
He's ruined the X-files, and now the Twilight Zone, and rumor is he's in an MCU film next.
Zachary Lewis
Why didn't he just say a joke about Tracy Morgan's character? If that guy didn't exist he would have set everything back to normal.
Gabriel Reed
>a butthole n-no? Cabbages just exist user, technically the whole earth is our shitter. (and dinner plate). When he ripped up the apostrophe note, I was under the impression he was going to joke about the comedy club, thus undoing the whole series of events. But that makes sense too.
Jayden Reed
I believe there's only two episodes out. Haven't checked, since I haven't had the time due to work. anyway, the second episode is about a guy flying on a plane while listening to an audiobook about that same flight and we find out that the plane is about to go missing if the guy doesn't solve what'll happen and stop it. Well, ''turns out'' he basically causes the whole situation himself by interfering . Wow. Never would've guessed. There's no feeling or enthusiasm whatsoever in these episodes. I feel like an idiot hoping that maybe the next episode will be better or the next after that.
Jackson Davis
Are you sure there’s no butthole on you? Check with your finger
Landon Howard
so...the second amendment
Ayden Rodriguez
Watch nightmare at 30,000ft its even worse than the comedian.
Ryan Wilson
>wiggles leaf Sorry captain, nothing. >11% Yeah that's pretty terrible. Don't get me wrong, the original series has the advantage of time, and like 6 good seasons. It has its fair share of duds, but for a reboot you really want to hit a good stride off the start. I'm really losing hope now.
Jayden Richardson
The opening lines about the Second amendment almost made me switch off and i’m neither a gun owner nor an American. I hated it but it held my attention until I watched it all so it deserves that credit.
The story and atmosphere were fine but some actual funny dialogue or charisma at a comedy club would have gone far even if they were being intentionally unfunny.
Grayson Gonzalez
Was it ever indicated that the second amendment disappeared too?
Leo Lopez
It had to be personal to him user. He clearly isn't a gun owner so, the amendment was safe. Recall how the neo-nazi, and president are both safe from his rants.
Asher Perry
his powers were kind of weird. he erased a dog so its not limited to people. i thought he would have been able to joke about meeting tracy morgan(playing dave chapelle, funniest thing of the episode) and erased the event from happening.
Austin Powell
The best I could determine is the powers were limited to personal relations. He erased his dog, his nephew, his drunken colleague, his gfs mentor, and possibly a whole slew of people in his final rant. How far the connection goes is unclear, but I'm of the opinion it has to be substantial. Either that, or the audience has to find humor in it, as evidenced with the fund investors.
Brayden Lee
>five minutes in >"suck my pussy" May be giving the episode a bit too much credit but could it possibly have been a sort of remake to it's a good life?
Nicholas Cruz
>three hedgefund managers heckling him >one asian, two whites >suddenly only whites dissappear, asian still there, only with girl now
