It uses antimatter, which if you ever expose it to normal matter will be totally converted to energy, which is much more than the matter-energy conversion ratio for any kind of nuke. It would release energy on the level of at least a tactical nuke.

Having soldiers with super-explosive hearts poses a problem. If they're in a group and one gets blown up, all the others will probably go with them. On the other hand, it would make the people they're attacking much more likely to surrender; even if you manage to kill one of the attacking troops you're dead anyway.

In the manga there weren't any special anti-matter hearts, the berserker body also wasn't standard-issue equipment for the Martian soldiers.

It's not like a nuke, you can't dump the fuel or anything like that. Antimatter has to be isolated from regular matter using some kind of containment like a magnetic field (the technology for this doesn't exist yet and it's not certain if such a thing could ever work). If the heart gets destroyed or the antimatter is ejected, the containment is broken and the fuel will be totally converted to energy.

That makes more sense, although we saw Alita with what looked like a berserker body during the zero-G training sequence with Gelda. Maybe the standard Martial body looks kind of like the berserker but isn't.

I feel like I'm repeating myself, like some weird deja vu, but what's your favorite scene in the movie?

Mine would have to be the bar fight. But, if I can be more specific, I favorite part would be from when Alita says "whose rules do I live by?" to when Ido is carrying her damaged body out and the sad music plays.

i saw it 4 times and aside from the fact that there's just so many good ones for me it has to be when she first meets hugo. the amount of emotions that alita went through in that scene was insane.

it's been a buoy for me, for sure. in a weird separation right now and I've been on anti-depressants. They kind of eliminate emotion completely but I'm more likely to be positive than annoyingly happy or something. Alita came into my life when my job was shit, wasn't saving/paying debts and I was just stagnating at my folks' trying to repair my life. I got a good job that I can transfer with, out of debt now and on track to save to move back to where I want. Alita came at just the right time to be that extra bit of positivity in my life that was completely missing. Yes it's all very gay but whatever it's true. This movie has connected with me more than any movie ever has.
